I agree. No way we can drop Simms or Wright after last season and EMC has to be in given how much we spent on him. Unless we play four up front Sakamoto is benched in my view.No. If EMC takes his L1 form into the Championship, he’s starting ahead of Sakamoto. Wright and Simms scored 19 goals apiece last season, they’re both nailed on starters.
I agree that Sakamoto is class, the other players mentioned are also class, classier.
Still triggered by people talking about whos going to be benched when the idea is to have a squad the manager is comfortable rotating.

Really good footballer is Torp...I don't get the negativity about him tbh.
What is the obsession with the fee a player cost ?I agree. No way we can drop Simms or Wright after last season and EMC has to be in given how much we spent on him. Unless we play four up front Sakamoto is benched in my view.
We were desperate to sign him and spent a lot on him. Would be irrational then not to play him. What is the obsession with the fee a player cost ?
I guarantee there isn't a manager who picks his side on a Saturday based on it
It’s a long season, EMC will start plenty of games even if he’s not first choice from the beginning.I get that but some are posting as if EMC will never start ahead of him
Maybe in a minimum 48 game season we’ll rotate both so they stay sharp all season instead of burning out.We were desperate to sign him and spent a lot on him. Would be irrational then not to play him.
I see Wright playing more games centrally this seasonIt’s a long season, EMC will start plenty of games even if he’s not first choice from the beginning.
Given Wright’s knock he might start vs Stoke anyway.
But Wright was arguably our player of the season last year, he’d have to do a lot to be ahead of him in the pecking order.
What makes you think torp isn't good @Saddlebrains ?
Couldn’t be arsed for this one as it was just a friendly but wish I’d gone now
Genuinely interested, obviously we scored 3 but were Everton just rusty/shit or did we play them off the park? Not suggesting anything either way I just didn’t see the game.
Another CM is certainly needed and the club appears to agree.I rate him. When he's fit. That's my.issue with Torp
If we had a Midfield 3 of Rudoni Sheaf Torp for 46 games give us promotion now
But we won't. Sheaf amd Torp between them will miss half the season with their usual rate of injury
We need someone of quality to come in and fight for starting instead of one of them, or covering when the inevitable happens ensuring we don't lose quality
Just my view
Again that is not an indicator of how a team is picked .We were desperate to sign him and spent a lot on him. Would be irrational then not to play him.
That’s was like a proper game, tried my seats in block 11 was bang on.

Will any team in the division keep their entire midfield fit?
And will they be at their peak for 46 games ? Eccles is more than good enough as he has proven for the last two seasons and Allen is a clever , adaptable player . We do need another cm but to suggest only 3 out of our 5 midfielders currently are good enough is sillyWill any team in the division keep their entire midfield fit?
Dont Sheffield Utd have like 16 senior pros at the moment? No
But take a look at the depth of the teams we want to be challenging
Burnley
Luton
Leeds
Sheff Utd
They lose a midfielder of quality another slots in
We dont have that at the moment
I think they learnt from last game where we conceded after so many changes at the same time. Thought it was clever to bring several subs on in a short space of time but in stages. We still looked good after making lots of subs. wants impressive as normal teams look a bit disjointed
One of whom is Hamer, who I’d be stunned to see still at the club by the end of the window.Dont Sheffield Utd have like 16 senior pros at the moment?
I got it wrong its 23, then when Hamer leaves 22 although its not a should I say strong 22One of whom is Hamer, who I’d be stunned to see still at the club by the end of the window.
Everton were ok for the first 15 minutes and missing some first teamers, they looked a lot less fit than us at this point in pre-seasonCouldn’t be arsed for this one as it was just a friendly but wish I’d gone now

At the end of the day its not up to us who plays, or Robins as I’ve heard apparently that duties been bestowed upon Dr. Claire-Marie Roberts
