Again, it's not my area,so this might be naive but... I'd have thought, given the likes of King were studying the original deal and considering it to still be valid, and the club consider the original deal something they were happy to continue under, then the thing to do would have been to sign the mirror deal (if Frasers are being honest of course, and it genuinely was the same as that which had gone before), build relationships, and make your requests from a position of actually having a deal in place, rather than having to start from scratch.
Yeah you’d think you’d be looking to get the relationship off to a good start by being accommodating for that kind of stuff.
Bizarrely some are all too ready to attack the club and side with an outside entity at any opportunity.
build relationships,
Certainly how it all reads to me from what has been released so far. I would find it incredibly stupid of Ashley to piss off the entire fan base like this if he does have a desire to take on the club too and on the surface of it, an eviction notice seems incredibly harsh. Someone needs to remind Joy that you can’t dig your heels in when you’ve got no legs to stand on!I'm not really sure what people are seeing that i'm not here in terms of sisu being some kind of victim.
From a timeline perspective:
- FG offer a license agreement that mirrors current agreement (by that I interpret the meaning to be same term, same costs same everything...so until 2031), prior to buying the stadium
- SISU refuse to sign this. On one hand you might say you understand this if they had genuine ambitions to get the stadium, on the other you say why not just sign it and then if you get it then it's void.
- FG get the stadium
- [This bit is murkier in terms of timings etc] SISU apparently also have additional requests/counter offer with regards to the agreement which obviously requires more time to hash out.
- FG offer a new deal until the end of this season (i'm interpreting the comms as meaning same costs etc just until end of the season)
- SISU reject this
- FG issue an eviction notice
Sounds to me that SISU have tried to negotiate even more preferential terms than the current deal that they had and FG said okay if you want to talk sign the current one until the end of the season, and SISU have said no. FG have said fuck off then.
Sounds like SISU are being twats?
Clearly King now has to progress the new stadium plans and to leave Ashley with a big white elephant because he can never be trusted.
Find it weird people saying that Ashley has shown his true colours with the eviction notice and wouldn't want him anywhere near the football club. He has no loyalties to us currently. Our own owners took us out of the city twice for a period in total of over 3 years while they were in charge. Yet they get a free ride from some. Is Ashley perfect? Absolutely not. Would he be a massive improvement on what we have now? Absolutely

Maybe we'll buy stadium 974 after the World Cup and plonk it on Car Park C. Then we can just add/remove stands as ticket sales dictate.I wonder what any new stadium plans would look like now. We were a L1 side with poor crowds talking about an 18k stadium before, you’d imagine we’d want closer to 40k if we’re heading for the Prem now. I’d guess that makes a big difference to planning and space requirements.
A massive improvement? Yeah, right. I had reservations about him before and this has confirmed them.Find it weird people saying that Ashley has shown his true colours with the eviction notice and wouldn't want him anywhere near the football club. Being aligned with the stadium and having security for the future over playing in cov is a massive improvement to me. Football is about seeing your club playing games in its own city first and foremost - currently, this is not looking very promisingMassive improvement? No chance.
An improvement, yes, not difficult, but he'll be a shit owner.
And the red carpet is bring laid out by the same shysters who brought us sisu.
He already has the stadium? I don't see how there's any other optionA massive improvement? Yeah, right. I had reservations about him before and this has confirmed them.

Who knows - but she has said she has offered the Trust any help she can giveWhat with?
And the don’t pay the binmen enough to clean it up eitherNever shit on your own doorstep, they say. Coventry Council never stop.
Brinkmanship. It’s all going to play out in the next few weeks. I guess SISU will not sell to King now? They will either sell the players of worth or tell Ashley et Al that they want x million.I agree about being aligned with the stadium, but I don't see much to be positive about beyond that.
As things currently stand we're in a worse position than we were pre the world cup break.
SISU like most hedge funds work by distressing other stakeholders, move to northampton definitely distressed ACL / CCC but backfired when WASPs moved in, move to St Andrews again distressed WASPs who were struggling financially but needed CCFC especially to get the stadium sponsorship deal with CBS. However those tactics aren't going to work against a savvy billionaire such as Ashley. Sisu know the game is up just trying to get as much as possible from a potential sale to Ashley. The Doug King sale last minute stadium bid was just another potential distressing tactic that was not entertained by the administrator. Money talks.
I will be complaining if the same actions have forced the club to sell our stars on the cheap in the meantime, derailing the whole season that Robins has miraculously got back on track. It would show complete contempt for the fans before he’s even taken over. And Ashley has to distress sisu to get the best deal, unfortunately. Obviously sisu want to maximise sale price.
People complaining about Ashley now, but if he does get the club, and his actions get the price down be a few £million, which can then be put into players, I doubt people will be complaining any more!

It’s like they were working for Ashley and NEC all along. They clearly wasn’t but they contributed to Wasps willing to take a gamble, then contributed to Wasps downfall. Eventually after all that hard work ACL become viable to buy out of admin and they aren’t even a serious bidder, until MA had an exclusivity agreement for a pre packed administration. Then all of a sudden the day before it’s being processed in court they’ve sold a majority share in the club and we have a “serious” bid. Too late, quite deliberately I’d imagine too. If we were offered a continuation license mirroring our existing license as part of that prepack as is being reported they would have 100% known the ship had sailed too. It was all game play. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised that they turned down the mirrored license thinking they were being clever distressing ACL before MA even took them over. We’ve been here before when Wasps purchased ACL, it’s exactly the same tactics. Make a disingenuous last minute bid knowing the ship has sailed whilst playing the victim.SISU like most hedge funds work by distressing other stakeholders, move to northampton definitely distressed ACL / CCC but backfired when WASPs moved in, move to St Andrews again distressed WASPs who were struggling financially but needed CCFC especially to get the stadium sponsorship deal with CBS. it does, but the lease was between CCC and ACL (now Frasers group) we had a 10 year license from ACL. It does not look as if this has a legal standing, though I am not a lawyer.Surely the lease has legal standing
The big worry for me is that Ashley won’t be buying into all of SISUs manufactured debt bollocks so will be offering significantly less than they dream of . Does that mean they will try and play elsewhere till January and then sell the family silver ?! If so we’re in trouble as a football club in the short term
Think OSB posted some details/information yesterday suggesting a license only has a 27day notice of cancellation. Although if SISU refused to sign the mirrored license in the prepack I guess even that 27 days is irrelevant.it does, but the lease was between CCC and ACL (now Frasers group) we had a 10 year license from ACL. More than 1 party would pay 15 for vik aloneIf the have a fire sale in January the players would go for Hyam prices. See Burnley already think they can get Vik on the cheap if the reports are correct. I couldn't see them raising £15m all in never mind Vik
Yeah annoyingly ill defined. Hard to rally anything against a single cause. What are we against and who and why and what do we want?
Irony is, it was Wasps / ACL who owed us money.
More than 1 party would pay 15 for vik alone
