Many people despised Churchill , do the research !!

Really? Because he changed political parties? Your historic analysis actually is without merit.

Fair play but going up against Lucas needs a massive swing if shes standing in the Holbrook ward. Labour polled more than double that of the other candidates put together last time. She probably isn't even worried about the Tory vote, let alone (on paper) a one-issue opponent.

I'd be more inclined to see what the main candidates in each constituency are prepared to do, as per option 2 ... but I dare say all of them will spin that they'll do all they can to get us back home.

Effectively doing SISU's dirty work....There is no balance here whatsover. Agreed pressure needs to be put on all parties but this is not about that at all....it's all about pressuring AL and the current council regime. Because most fans realise who the main protagonists were in taking us out of our city and pretty much condemning us to long term obscurity in their desire to get the big prize, I doubt he'll get the votes needed to prove he hasn't got a masterplan at all.

My master plan is boycott everything involving Sisu City & starve the buggers out ,they will eventually run out of players to sell & disappear. N.O.P.M :blue:

Given you say you have no interest in the council you spend a hell of a lot of time and effort defending them.

Funny you and duffer seem to think Winston Churchill was a dreadful leader but hey ho.

Of course its s good strategy. Defeat the council leader over her and the councils stance on the Ricoh. It will send shock waves to self serving politicians. The truth I suspect is if it comes to the club getting hold of the Ricoh or stay in Northampton you and duffer will favour the latter.

Time to decide - club or the council.

As you have not paid a penny in council tax to this city, it is easy for you to say give the RICOH to SISU for nothing. If Ann gets unelected the labour party will just elect another leader and if you think there will be a change of policy on the ricoh you are more deranged than I imagined. The main reason you are supporting this idea is you see a chance of a LABOUR member of the council getting voted out.

So, sorry if this has been asked before, but what exactly is this protest parties policy on the Ricoh?

I see the smear campaign is underway and it's being claimed that Patton isn't a Sky Blue and actually supports Spurs. Whilst you can of course support the cause without supporting the team given that you would imagine the majority of votes would come from city fans thats not going to be a help, unless of course its not true in which case ignore all this!

I just want to know why I should vote for them and what they will do differently to Labour or Conservatives?

I'll dip in with a quick reply to a point that has come up a few times and then catch up with the rest in the morning.

'Political opportunist'

The story behind Brian standing is this...

I'd had chats with a few people over the past few weeks who had all mentioned Brian as someone to approach as he had been pretty vocal on the Ricoh affair and had a good reputation around Coventry as a stand up bloke who put principles over party politics. I rang him and he was ill in bed with 'flu but agreed to look through our previous press release etc. and talk more. After a bit more of a chat he agreed to stand, we had a few people in Holbrooks jump at the chance to nominate him and here we are.

So rather than him jumping on a passing ship, is was me dropping the king's shilling in his pint ;)

Careful with the King's shilling quip Rob, that saying is rooted in jumping ship and there's already been enough debate on here about that tonight ;-)

Chief dave, he says he is " Coventry born and bred but supports Tottenham" in his video. No smears just facts.

So we can look forward to lots of LOL's and sexual innuendo then.

He just let the Germans bomb it. Allegedly.

To be honest not too bothered about what party Churchill was, he wasn't saying he could get us back in Coventry.

This is why I think it needs to be made clear exactly what he is going to do should he win the election.

At the moment it appears the GCBTR candidate is not actually running under their name, has a track record of changing parties, is a Spurs supporter and was against the council assisting with the Ricoh build which would have effectively rendered us homeless.

Now of course none of that excludes him from having exactly the right motives and the perfect plan to get us back to the Ricoh but it doesn't inspire me with confidence that this is the person we should be believing is going to be our 'white knight' for want of a better phrase. If there are clear objectives accompanied by a clear (and realistic) plan then I'm sure we can all get behind this but at the moment it all seems a bit vague.

Does it matter who he supports?

All the "usual suspects" getting their knickers in a twist. We only need MMM, Schmeee and SBJ for a full "condemnation" set. Funny how holding a banner with muppets on outside an empty office is "doing something" and this isn't.

You've got to laugh, haven't you?

Yes you've got to, I know I did.

Agree with you there. As I've said before the solution is very easy. The club purchase Higgs share (and pay for it, not put it on the never never!), they then clear the loan and purchase CCC share. CCC then move the lease to say a 99 year lease with peppercorn rent. If the club (i.e. SISU) want to alter any of the deals in place with existing tenants they do so once they are running the whole complex. The solution is really not that difficult unless any party is determined not to agree a deal or has unrealistic demands. If SISU were to state they would be happy with this I think you would see a lot of pressure on the council to agree to it.

Elements have happened already, the Casino paid to get out of its lease. Compass went the other way and bought ACL's share in revenue.

Logic however does not always come into this. We have SISU's position that seems odd from a business perspective.

ACL, well you could be forgiven thinking that their focus is paying their wages.

Council, that seems to have little logic, why on earth did they pay full whack to bail out ACL from the Bank when they could have got a significant discount, why are they seemingly happy at ACL's management?

Higgs, well what they paid would seem a lot more than current valuation, but presumably they have no reason to sell and may be reluctant to realise their loss.

Ideally someone could come in with a bucket load of cash and buy out the respective interests at current valuation, can not see that happening.

Ex-councillor Brian Patton to stand v Ann Lucas on Get Cov Back to the Ricoh ...

If you are going to organise a protest why don't you organise it outside the courtroom when the JR is on.

The councillors you want to impact on will be present. As will SISU. As will ACL. As will the press.

Then all fans can come along and protest against whoever they want.

I appreciate it is after the elections but lets be fair that isn't going anywhere really

Because Grendel and Torch said so.
Fucking hate Spurs so won't get a vote from me then again I don't live in holbrooks like a lot of City fans.

Rob, can Brian come up with a compelling reason as to why sisu can be entrusted with the stadium?
