Would definetly keep hold of him for next season . Plays on the front foot , creates chances and can score goals .
He would likely be down the pecking order next season but is a popular member of the squad , does well when given an opportunity and would likely be on a relatively low wage

We need to up grade the squad and you want to hold on to a player that has found his level in League One. We need to wish him well and release him to further his career. He would take up a valuable space in one of the 25 slots allowed for senior players and would rarely make the bench even without us strengthening our squad.

I hope he has a decent career. Seems a nice character. He has had rough luck with injuries. His Burton loan was a chance to show his development and then he injured himself after scoring. Now fit again and he gets a goal and an assist in two cameos. I don't think he was given a fair crack under Robins. Never had a run of games. However, can't have been enough shown in training to push him into the frame.

Who should he have played instead of?

Initially, coming off the bench more often. His pace v tiring defence would have been an asset. Then if he showed his worth...
How much did we pay for BTA? Has he shown that he is much better? Is Simms any better? Stronger definitely but not a better finisher and not a better first touch.
My point is that through injury or selection he has never had an opportunity to really show the level he is capable of.

He has shown us his level. He was a revelation vs Man Utd in the cup semi and helped to change the course if that game. However, he has also equally shown he can't sustain that level and like a few of our first team forward players seems to struggle with his first touch.

A bit of top class coaching should sort his first touch, not sure that’s what he is getting on loan though.

Of course Simms and BTA are better

Your career defines you. He’s 24 and has started 2 league games in his whole career.

I'd say he's very slightly more shit than Simms and BTA, but there's not much in it tbf.
Apart from Vik we've not had a good record with strikers, we can get a decent half a season from one or other (Mcnulty, Simms and Wright) but that's about it for some reason.

Wright gets shoved out on the left and does better there, but Simms and BTA just look shit, neither can hold the ball up or control it or head the bloody thing, it's amazing they can earn a living at this level.
