Time to go again. Having started the season completely disinterested I'm fired up in the hope the 2nd half will be as competitive as the end of the first half.

Very much the same as you

Still feel Max will seal the drivers title as Lando just isn't good enough for me but I can only see Max picking up another 1 or 2 wins probably sealing it with 3 races to go in Vegas

Piastri will be the best performer these last 10 races I feel, alongside George

McLaren to win the Constructors championship

Alpine mechanic got away with one there, that would have been a pretty horrific injury if he took any longer getting his hand away.

Give him his due, his start was crap, but he was in another league today.

McLaren haven't won the constructors since 1998.This has got to be the best chance since at least 2007 when they got thrown out.

I'd love them to do it

Despite my opinion of Lando not being string enough to win a title, I'd love it if he did

This season will end like 2009 for me. Just like Jenson, Max will get just enough podiums and points to win it with a couple of races to go

Looks like Sargeant's done. Replaced by Colapinto for the rest of the season.

Top 6 look ridiculously close. At the end, any one of them could have had pole.

Red Bull meanwhile, absolutely miles off.

Could be a massive swing for McLaren tomorrow, if they play it right. So, expect to see a Ferrari leading into turn One....

Well Landos on pole so that means he will be 4th by the end of lap 1

Great to see Red Bull so shit

Piastri might seem fairly placid, but I reckon that kid has a killer streak in him. Put a proper move on his teammate.

Lando under pressure again, and makes more mistakes. He's been around long enough now to not be making them.

This is why i stand by Piastri will be champion before Lando

This is why I feel McLaren didn't swap the cars at the end, and also insisted he gave the place back in Hungary

I feel they are keeping him sweet knowing next year, Piastri is there safest bet for a Drivers Championship

Maybe, but since they are teammates again next year, unless they have a truly dominant car (ie RB) they won't be winning the drivers.

If Piastri won't play the team game this season, I hope Norris doesn't next year (should Piastri be in the hunt). They will continue to take points off each other.

I agree with you about Piastri and Norris. One is behaving like a WC driver, one is not. Would Verstappen or Hamilton have given up the win in Hungary knowing that the drivers championship is on the line? Just like Piastri didn't give up second place. You have to be a selfish b*stard if you want to win.

For the rest of the season, Norris has to have a 'win at any cost' mentality. I think the next 8 races will decide if he is capable of winning a WC.

McLaren should be prioritising Norris tbh. I'd have been telling Piastri to move over on Sunday once it was clear he wasn't catching Leclerc.

That "you're gonna need oscar, and you're gonna need the team" radio message is starting to sound a bit sus now. I bet he wishes he never gave the place back.

Think they know he won't win the title anyway. Clear to everyone Lando isn't Champion material.

The constant shite starts, the weak as piss driving when racing Max, Oscar, Charles etc, and pretty poor racecraft overall

He'd had the quickest car for 10 races and has won 2. He isn't good enough

Stand by my theory McLaren feel Oscar is their best bet next few seasons for a WDC hence how they are towards him

I think he can though, if they employ team orders.

Monza would've been a 1-2 if they didn't squabble on the first lap IMO. That could have been 10 extra points for Lando. If they're willing to fully prioritise him I think it would go down to the wire and he'd definitely have a chance. If they let them fight there's no way because he's just not ruthless enough.

Oscar is looking good but has his off races too. Norris wiped the floor with him at Zandvoort, and he actually had a pretty messy race in Hungary.

I almost believe the wacky theory going round that Oscar has a clause in his contract that bans team orders.

It's a bit of a gamble. Maybe quickest car this year but no guarantees for next year. Take a Championship while you can.
For me it's a fair bit to do with the weaknesses of McLaren's management and strategy teams - particularly before the break they were making errors costing their drivers wins and points. Other teams have said they can't understand why McLaren aren't pushing Norris more for the driver's championship.
We'll see how thenext few races go but doubt Norris will be leaving Piastri any gaps again.

Newey to Aston Martin confirmed.

All Daddy Stroll needs to do now is stop funding his son's racing fantasy, get a proper driver in there alongside Alonso, and maybe they might actually win something.

See, I don't think this is the big coup everyone thinks

News undoubtedly is the best designer F1 has ever seen..but the 2026 regs will be more engine based like 2014..

I don't think Newey is.going to have much of an impact

A lot of people are saying that about engines, but if you're going to back anyone to really nail the whole active aero thing, then surely Newey is the guy you'd back?

And don't forget, Aston are also getting the guy who made the Mercedes engine the masterpiece that it was, in Andy Cowell, so there is a possibility they could nail both areas.

McLaren: We're going to prioritise Norris.

Norris: proceeds to absolutely bottle it in Q1.

Don't think he can even put that down to a yellow flag, either. Looked like the flag panel was flashing green as he got there.

You know exactly what I'm going to say.....

Lando is nowhere near good enough. Say it till I'm blue in the face

Piastri wins the title for McLaren before Lando
