Ridiculous thread really. Why do we need to like any of them? I just want them to get results on the pitch. That is the only relationship fans have with players. And by the way if they string 2-3 wins together they’ll all be favourites again.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing here. But why are the "Barnsley 3" considered the way they are to some?

Because if it is just because they aren't performing as we want them to, then that isn't really fair.

Off field rumours aside, their attitude on the pitch stinks. Thomas is a coward, all three look like they can’t be arsed.

Well, if we can have the Birmingham 6 and the Guilford 4, why not have the Barnsley 3?

Can't agree. Thomas often puts in a strong tackle (admittedly usually a recovering tackle!) and is the only defender ever likely to win an attacking header. Always one of the first in a scuffle.

Not sure what attitude your seeing with them either? Collins & Kitchen were bombed out - yes they arn't isn't Wilson & Big Mo but how are they supposed to appear?

It's all off field rumours, to me. Rumours from terribly biased and often flawed ITKs. Seems very unfair. Yes, they may not be the players we want them to be at the minute but I think personally all this Barnsley 3 nonsense is unfounded, unfair and counter-productive.

That’s it though. Thomas gets a pass cos he makes meaty challenges. Even if they’re because he was out of position. He’s the main reason we’re so ponderous bringing the ball out. But it’s the constant detached smirk him Kitching and Collins play with that bothers me. Never look arsed at conceding, always casual on the ball, never look like they’ve given everything to stop a goal.

Oh and Thomas has made one good pass to his right back in one and a half seasons. Which considering who out right back is is disgraceful.

A coward? That's a bit strong, Shmmeee.

I stand by what I said. Watch the game back and see how many time he just pussies out and taps the ball five yards to someone else because he doesn’t want it.

That's not being a coward. You saying "he doesn't want it" is in your head. It's more likely he's keeping the ball moving, keeping possession because he has no progressive options going forward. Much the same why Eccles and Sheaf go side to side now too. It's also more likely he is told to move the ball on to the likes of Binks, as it's clear Binks has the occasional long switch in his locker.

Coward is totally unfounded.

He’s not keeping the ball moving. Watch it. I wasn’t the only person round by me or get sick of seeing it either. It’s not changing angles or anything it’s literally not even trying and just passing the buck.

I do watch it. I dont see the same as you. I see a player whose distribution isn't great, so he moves it to players who are better at it - probably under instruction to do so.

Theres a difference IMO. Hyam was poor with his distribution but never like this, Fadz and others too.

This thread is vintage SBT headloss after a bad performance.

DaSilva comes across as a lovely bloke, always has time for the staff and kids a like pregame. But because the opposition play a 6"2 winger and pump the ball over to him every game he's unlikable and clearly doesn't care about the club.

I like a lot of these players. Lots of the same people last season saying 'I love this team' when we beat Wolves and went to Wembley, as well as other results. This idea that players are unlikeable because the team underperforms is weird to me. Putting the 3 players who used to play for Barnsley into their own category of behaviour is crazy, they are nothing like each other, they just played for the same team in the past.

I would say that Sakamoto, Milan, Wright, Eccles, BTA, JDS are examples of players who come across well. Others like Simms, Sheaf, Kitching seem a bot more serious but that doesn't mean they are horrible people.

But then you also say he goes and puts in good blocks/tackles - if he was pussying out he wouldn't do that.

Now maybe he doesn't have a great deal of confidence with his passing and maybe takes the easy option. but I think to call him a pussy is too far.

Cowardice. Wow. Unfounded, unknowable and inflammatory. He’s just not comfortable on the ball. And we keep giving it to him………

Favourite doesn't necessarily mean the best. I quite like MVE for his after match antics and Torp for his smooth casualness.

Not really got time for any of them. Do we even sing any of their names? I'd say I'd shake the hand of Josh Eccles, if I had to. The rest can fuck off, I've no connection to any of them. What the heck has gone on?
Sounds like the problem is yours, If we are struggling you want them to all 'fuck off' ?? The connection should be the shirt they put on. Don't know how long you've followed them but it's the life of a City fan. It's all about the journey (there is no 'destination' as such ( a bit deep for a Tuesday morning!) PUSB!
