Grendel, I think he misread what you wrote, and then you misread what he wrote.
In which case I am sure we can mutually apologise
I asked him why he had made a big thing that Rob S did not live in Coventry. He said he did not say that. I produced a statement that said he did - oddly you even liked my initial post to the stupid comment anyway. Where is the misunderstanding?
he said this in reply to you saying he had said Rob did not live in Cov
"I didn't I said he doesn't live in Coventry", read it slowly and pretend there's a comma after 'I didn't'.
He misread what you put, and therefore his reply didn't follow, but it seems you think he denied saying it, which isn't what his reply says.
Ah now I see it. So he doesn't say he does live in Coventry. Fair enough - however he does then point blank refuse to answer the initial question.
So the initial question stands. Why would a poster say "he doesn't live in Coventry" if this is not supposed to be viewed as negative and against him. Why would one Coventry fan say this to another? So I agree the misunderstanding but only as jack basically ignored the point I made.
So I apologise for the misreading jack now I am sure you will equally be curteous to answer my point - why make the statement RobS doesn't even live in Coventry - what was the motivation behind this post?
Good man G, it's misunderstandings such as this that has probably led you to pick the wrong side in this whole SISU v ACL/Council debate (don't worry, just a bit of banter).

Rob Stevens doesn't even live in Coventry, LOL
Nope, I did not reply because I was in the pub.
The original comment I made was in reference to Rob standing in local elections. I said it because I think residence is an issue if you intend to represent the people of Coventry.
I don't think I made a terribly 'big thing' about it either.
For reference, above is the quip I made.. anyway I will say no more.. Grendel can say what he wants & I will ignore him as that's the best policy with trolls.
But you have replied, so you have ignored best policy. You will feel the wrath of G, but that will be ok as long as you do then apply best policy.
It is so funny, Grendull has deleted his original comment because he got his knickers in a twist when he accused me of saying Rob wasn't from Coventry. It is naughty boy caught out behavior. PMSL

Why does the law stop them offering a unencumbered freehold? I genuinely don't know why...
How much for Higgs to be paid off?
How much for the catering rights to be paid off?
How much for the casino contract to be paid off?
How much for the ACL loans to be paid off?
How much for all other contracts to be paid off?
How much will all this cost? Who will pay for it all?
Then SISU would be happy to buy it off CCC. Do you really think that they would be able to pay as much as all the contracts and loans would cost? And then you have the problem of CCC having to sell to the highest bidder. CCC couldn't just let them have it on the cheap as it is covered by law. What makes you think that SISU would be the highest bidder? But who else would want the stadium and everything that comes with it I hear you say. Quite a few I would say as the value without any of the present contracts and loans would be much higher. It is the sort of thing that the pensions industry, investment trusts and HEDGE FUNDS :facepalm:would want to buy into. And SISU would have to outbid them all to get their wish.

Just to try and put some figures on those:
How much for Higgs to be paid off? In theory, nothing if ACL is wound up due to lack of income as Sisu claim.
How much for the catering rights to be paid off? Well a "£125m contract" was signed for 10 years in 2009. So I suppose you can say £62.5m as 5 years are left. (This is the biggest contract I'd guess as it's full service for all the hotel and events management)
How much for the casino contract to be paid off? To take a line from Ian £7m
How much for the ACL loans to be paid off? £14.4m
How much for all other contracts to be paid off? Like I said, it seems the Compass deal covers everything else.
That's £83.9m cost, aside from the actual value of the area buildings and the land.
Yes it's a ballpark, and yes the Compass deal would probably end up a bit cheaper, but even so you're looking at north of £30m at least.
At no point have I ever said SISU should get it on the cheap. They should pay the price that is fair, and that would be offered to any other party should they wish to make that purchase.
So is that your reason why legally they can't? Because all you've said is the law stops them giving it on the cheap.
It would make a lot of sense for someone to independently value the Ricoh and all those contracts to give us a clearer picture. CET?

You just have to love this new guy Ian he's priceless. Comes out with some real gems.
Why ?
They all hold zero value in Sisu's eyes. It would just be wasting everyones time.

Of course John... just come up with a criticism instead of a possible idea for a solution.
Or just gullible twats.
Ive posted the solution many times but you wouldn't like the answer.
Tell me what do you think about the 1.8million ccfc are paying Arvo every year ?

It's shit John - there's no dispute. It's a load of bollocks, but what's changed from when before SISU were in charge, then we would have paid it to someone else in some way. The club has been making a loss for the last 15 - 20 yrs, yet you're suggesting we've never been accruing debt until SISU showed up.
What do you propose as an alternative? Stop paying it and pay the players in magic beans?
Of course John... just come up with a criticism instead of a possible idea for a solution.
Fucking hell! telling John about having a pop when from the bits of posts I have been bothered to read that you have made where you've been critical of ACL, CCC, CET and personal goes at Simon Gilbert. Oh yes and you usually sign off with a Sisu have been shit but then direct it all the other way without actually picking Sisu apart like you have with the other sides. Haven't seen you be critical of FL either (might be wrong because you've been rather busy of late). You claim to be a football fan but again haven't seen any posts from you about football (again may be wrong), at least everybody else on this forum talks about football sometimes.
You want a possible and simple solution to our plight, well here goes. Sisu stop fucking about and drop the JR, which might get them some praise and show they care about the football club they own and the city it is supposed to play in, if they want the Ricoh then get 3 valuations and from them get a happy medium, then make an offer for it. ACL look at the offer and either say yes, no or negotiate at which point Sisu either get round the table or fucking build Legoland. Is that not the best possible solution? Is it only Sisu/Otium who can do that? or do you still want to see ACL's books or continue to have a go at CET or Simon Gilbert? you can go around the houses all you want talking about accounts and media and councils etc but it is Sisu and Sisu alone who can start on the road back the Ricoh. This for me is where everyone's efforts need to be aimed. People can still be critical of all parties but Sisu/Otium are the ones that can bring us HOME.
Of course only SISU can bring us back, and ultimately it is them that have to have the will to do it. I can't understand why we are having all this bluster for a new stadium. The Ricoh is perfectly viable. The club does however need to have control of it's financial destiny. We can hate SISU all we want, but you cannot escape the fact that they are right about that part.
As for criticising the FL, it's all the fashionable thing to do. But in reality they have no control. Money is power, and they have about as much as we do. Sky and the PL run football in this country, and people can call the league not fit and proper, toothless and anything else but they can only work within the parameters of the law. Look at the Leeds situation to tell you exactly that. If they work outside of the law they will be sued to pieces and will be broke
One thing I will be critical of the FL is the way they structured the giving the GS. What I wish they had done is say that it will be reviewed at the end of each season, and you have to demonstrate progress in order to keep hold of it for the next season. Maybe if that had been done we may have seen more progress.
I want the same as you and every one else - CCFC back in Coventry. But perhaps we aren't getting anywhere is because the same approach keeps getting wheeled out. Are we not allowed to ask what part other parties have played in this? Every party is culpable - albeit in different proportions.
Here's a better idea. SISU drop the JR on the basis that a deal is put in place between ACL and them to give CCFC what it needs to have a sustainable future.
But is asking the question to other parties going to bring us home?
At no point have I ever said SISU should get it on the cheap. They should pay the price that is fair, and that would be offered to any other party should they wish to make that purchase.
So is that your reason why legally they can't? Because all you've said is the law stops them giving it on the cheap.
It takes more than one party to do a deal.
