Well I was also there Michael and many of the Tranmere fans I met were very sympathetic to our cause and the game itself, baring in mind your comment I highlighted above it's a little immature, I have provided you many examples of investment that we made during the January window and reasons why we couldn't at the beginning of the season, yet it is a continuing rant.

Lack of investment? Maybe a Club should live within it's own means, we can't always rely any owner pumping money into make us successful because as you have seen over the years with Coventry City Football Club it doesn't work. I am not discussing Sisu's lawyers or there business ethics, but you mentioned the investment into our first team, we have generally brought in a good number of players over Sisu's tenure, now this is the season we have had to utilise the loan market, the accounts issues you can put down to Sisu, but lets not kid ourselves our current squad is very good looking on paper, injuries have taken their toll and we are struggling, you can't always look to the owners and point them out as the problem.

Surely it is ironic that there is a campaign run to starve them of money and then moan about players being bought? I am not having a go or being pro sisu before I get accused of all that.

I think that is slightly irrelevant due to the nature of the Groundshare, but the thesis that we can't go out and splash out on players is correct as we have to prepare for FFP, this is why it is imperative that should we return to the Ricoh with all the Football related revenues under a tennancy or ownership, it doesn't matter but to be successful and to build a strong squad it it essential.

But it's been said many, many times that sisu have deep pockets and are happy to meet losses at sixfields so you can't have it both ways!

MichaelCCFC..."This was always going to be a war of attrition and there's a heck of a long way to go yet. I'm a pragmatist and the question I always ask about disrupting games is 'what would be achieved?' cctv means banning orders, fines and even custodial sentences are inevitable with potential implications for people's lives and livelihood (even if large numbers are involved, and I see no evidence to suggest that would ever happen, some would be identified and made an example of). It would could cause division among City fans because some would support it and some not. If it was at a game where the opposition has something to play for the opposition fans aren't going to be happy. Don't imagine SP and the players would like it. sisu would immediately brand us as hooligans. The media would turn on us. So I struggle to see why this is a good tactic - especially when people who suggest it always wants others to lead eg 'the younger ones' rather than saying 'at whatever ccfc game I'm leading a pitch invasion who's up for it'!"

Totally wrong Michael. You're trying to plant the fear factor among fans. They/we wouldn't get fined if there were large numbers. It just wouldn't happen. If done in a peaceful manner. Peaceful protestors aren't hooligans. You know it too. I've spoken personally with you on the hill about this and you dismissed it then as a strategy out of hand. You cite a lot of 'why nots' but playing by the rules will take years - you know this.
The petition is commendable but it has already stalled and is unlikely to reach the required number. And even if it did, (I hope it does) what then? More waffling and shuffling of papers in Parliament from half a dozen MPs?
Your final comment is not worthy of you. I've consistently said I'll be up for it - read my posts - you'll see what I say each time. At 67 years old I'd rather go this protesting way than the long drawn out playing by the rules way - subtle character slurring is not proper argument Michael and I expected better than that from you.
Sisu fight dirty, they don't play by the rules. Neither should we.

Yes they should, but the question is Michael why should they continue to pump millions of their own money into the Club when the Football Stadium they were renting up until this season wasn't giving them all related venues that were generated by the Club?

So surely any unexpected bonuses like Arsenal for example would just cushion the blow a bit?

This isn't me being pro anybody, just asking a question.

I am not having it any way, I am neither campaigning to stop giving them money or moaning about lack of investment.

So you boil any concern about our current plight down to sisu not getting the pie money. There are people on here who will excuse acl anything. There are those who refuse to accept that problems started before sisu arrived. And there are those who will excuse sisu of anything. Each ignore reality.

It's a war of attrition which means it will take years. If disruption will work then go for it and I'll be the first to apologise and say I was wrong!

What about those who think that every party has their share of the blame and always have done?

but it goes back to the point of fans starving the club of matchday revenue and then expecting millions to be spent on team investment?? Living beyond our means??

Michael, have always supported you but getting mixed vibes here.
Are you the same person who stood outside JSs office waving banners and demanding action?
The Why and When are a great PR campaign and needs to carry on, all down to your hard work.

Are you changing views or am I reading this all wrong?

It's been a fun morning but need to go and do some other stuff now.

Stu - just read previous posts about this all predates sixfields, sisu have deep pockets, way to increase income is get back to ricoh even on a rental basis, and there are those who will excuse acl anything. Those who refuse to accept that problems started before sisu arrived. And there are those who will excuse sisu of anything. Each ignore reality.

That doesn't really answer anything though? I can't stand outside my corner shop telling people not to give them my money and then kick off if it shuts down can I?

Reality? Reality is a Club being able to live with it's own means, meaning a Club living within the revenue it generates, you make a mockery of the pie money and feel free to continue it, but bare in mind this we are in the situation we are because of that.

Our current plight is down to a mixture of events that I will not go into on this thread, however why are we not able to bring in players like you sounded off at the beginning of the thread? Because CCFC cannot throw money at bringing in payers, why should the owners do it, this season of all others? We are a huge number of points off the play-offs now, player prices are inflated, it doesn't suit the managers philosophy, the money pumped in is not likely to be recovered in ticket sales or additional CCFC fixtures or tournament participations, etc.

Reality is the owners will not throw cash at the Club to make it a success for whatever reason and have brought in a suitable number of players during the previous transfer window.

Dont disagree michael but you canot invest heavily in the team with no funds coming through the door (the here and now). I doubt SISU have deep pockets, they are clearly reliant on investment so they cannot spend without a consequence (or promise of a profit). The problems were here long before SISU but clearly our owners had made the situation worse from a fans perspective but clearly not from their own viewpoint. I think we have to fave reality in that we are stuck at 6fields for this season at least, we will struggle to keep our heads above water then we will have to ensure we get these answers about future plans for next season.

Protests at sisu, fl etc were about keeping the issue in the public eye. 'Why' was a launchpad for the epetition which is the current tactic. I've never been persuaded that disruption would help and I would definitely never do anything that risked other people getting banning orders, fines or worse. I've never bought into the having to be pro/anti acl/sisu stuff and am pro team and pro fan. So I'm pretty sure I've stuck to my guns. But starting with reading some of Grendel's posts last night, he used to be an interesting poster but now his comments bear no relation to reality. Same goes for others who regularly say they're not pro acl/sisu but will ignore all reality to excuse the 'side' they support. Definitely my last post for now!

Nobody has ever said you can only blame one person, a lot of people blame all sides (not necessarily equally) but think all parties have their own share of the blame and have done for months. Just because somebody doesn't rant about SISU in every post it doesn't mean they are Pro SISU does it, most of it goes without saying half the time.

If you do think the council / ACL have made boo boos then why haven't the campaign groups directed anything their way and only towards SISU / Football League?

Sbvet, although he was a mentalist made a point about writing to MP's, as many as they can and then the next week the trust send out newsletters with it in?

Exactly. It's utter nonsense.

All you ever get in response to that is "well, they said they would cover losses" which is completely irrelevant.

To extend your analogy, you wouldn't be able to stand outside it at all, because it would have been moved to a different town.

As much as I agree with most of these ideas, they would suggest that we had fans who give a fuck??

No point attacking Michael for what he is doing/writing. Wouldn't it be better asking why most are not bothered?

Good question. My opinion is football is an entertainment business. If you get the same thing every single season of mid/lower table shite with no hope of any success for nearly 30 yrs people will talk with their wallets.
Look at the response for the JPT area final. A sniff of success and the place was packed . We all know what happened, same old city .
Football isn't like any other business and can't be ran as such . A sniff of success and the fans would be clamouring to be involved.

Well, blow me, there it is.

The problem is Mark some people i.e Michael want things both ways, how can CCFC go out and spend £3,000,000 with everything taken into account, it's a ramble with no sense or thought. It's just another dig to highlight the point he is trying to make.

I think it is quite amusing how certain individuals have slated Michael for the comment about lack of investment in the team, ignoring the following points stating that all sides are at fault and need grilling!

I also find it quite amusing how it appears some would point the finger at the fans for there being a lack of money for players. Despite SISU saying they could cover the losses at sixfields.

My my what a joke ..........

No I agree. The fans aren't turning up at sixfields, so it is definitely our fault that there is a lack of investment in the team. Silly me.

People have been saying all sides are at fault for months even going back to the SISU out protests but if you don't blame just SISU you are an apologist. I like the fact that this is now being acknowledged.

Nobody is being slated anywhere?
