The Babadook is now online at all the "usual places" if you want something to watch at Halloween. It didn't do much good at the box-office though.

Mutant turtles is dire...planet of the apes not much better..they may well have been better after 30 minutes but I gave up on both

I thought "Dawn" was even better than "Rise of the Planet of the Apes". It was more evenly paced and didn't suffer from a silly tagged-on ending that the previous movie had. The battle scenes were especially good as both sides exhibited some tactical intelligence. Unusually, you don't need 3D or to have seen the previous movie to be able to appreciate it.

Thought Id put this on but didn't get it at all and turned it off after about half hour. Maybe I need to know the background to it, was just boring.

Still Alice - Brilliant film, very well acted by Julianne Moore, possibly an Oscar winner. 8/10

Dumb & Dumber 2 - Wasn't expecting much, but it failed to live up to my low expectation. 3/10

Haven't seen American Sniper yet Nick. Who's in it and do you mean it's got a good twist at the end? I'll have to catch that one.

I've just seen the nominations for the upcoming Oscars. I see that "The Grand Budapest Hotel" has been nominated for about nine. What the hell for? I watched this a few months back. It was the biggest load of claptrap I've ever scene! Dull. Dull. Dull! No storyline whatsoever! Definately one for the "Never watch again!" list!

Not seen a decent film for years to be honest have to watch older ones like Gladiator or the Godfather trilogy for entertainment. Best film ever ? White Heat with James Cagney if anyone likes gangster movies watch this one !

I think that's the usual prerequisite for an Oscar nomination?

Agree wholeheartedly Dutch. There's always one film that the arty-farty luvvy-duvvys will gush over because they think we, the watching public, will be drawn into their world.

Really looking forward to seeing this, I hope it lives up to my expectations.

I watched 'Joe' last week (Nick Cage film) one of the best films I have seen for along time. I'm not a Cage fan, and he has made some real shite, but this is the best performance of his life, and one of the most honest films I have seen for a few years. Well worth a watch.
