Twist it how you like, home attendances this season are 82% down on last season's league average.

Fans ARE voting with their feet.

NOPM.

Well most of us are. The rest attend and stand on the hill and watch anyway.

If people want a measuring stick, take the 3 lowest attendances last year, Burton, Arlesey and Morecombe (correct me if i'm wrong but wasnt it around 16k for the 3) and see how long it takes to achieve this figure on home games at the Sixfields. Quite simply those who wish to watch CCFC have no argument that crowds are rising by a couple of hundred (not the best of claims) and those wishing not to go need to stop worrying, its never going to be a big issue.

Did the attendance make you more proud than the actual score though? Some people I have seen just comment on the attendance and not the actual football being played.

You've made a couple of comments like this now Nick, why does it have to be one or the other?. Just because someone mentions the attendance it doesn't mean they don't care about the result.

I think you made a comment like this on the Colchester match thread before the game had even kicked off!!!

People can care about both, it is the ones who are more fussed about the attendance than the result I mean...

Those weak in mind and heart go to sick fields
no, those who want to support the team and view the situation differently to you are the ones going to sixfields.
Or are you referring to the hillers?

Yes, still shit, but home support is creeping up.

Still shit as per my previous post. We had more home fans watching Arlesey Town last year than those first 3 home games put together, thats a statement in its self.

How does that make them weak? ha

Because if they were strong and stuck to genuine feelings, did not go into Sixfields this whole sorry mess would be resolved.

What would make SISU pick the phone up to ACL? A full Sixfields or an empty Sixfields?

Would the FL and FA want the situation resolved if the stadium was empty or full?

Before you say why not ACL call SISU, well offers have been made and not taken, ACL are moving on.
Was at the Ricoh yesterday it was packed again.

I guess weak in mind because in some peoples thinking, including my own, they are putting there feelings for watching the team before the long term future of the club.
What makes it worse is that we all want to watch the team but we think that if we go SISU will take that as on okay for them to continue as owners and to build a new stadium.
If like me you believe the wait for a new stadium will kill the club you have help them see the error of their ways.

Because I would never call any supporter of any team "sick in the mind and heart" for going to cheer their team. I'm not going, but fair play to those that wish to. If I'm disappointed by any fans then it's the ones on the hill.

Why is it Torch?

32K at the Ricoh, what was that for?

So, what about those on the hill?

They've made a decision to go to games and stuck to that decision against majority opinion. Maybe they view that helping the club means attending games. This doesn't make them weak, this just means they don't hold your viewpoint. Of course to many on here if you're not a boycotter, or a hill freeloader you must be weak.

Maybe they are stronger because they aren't giving into peer pressure?

Is there 100% proof that low attendances will make CCFC come back to Coventry? I seem to remember the trust on late kick off calling out for administration because it would give us a new leaf of life and would get rid of SISU. (Yes, not all trust people are not directly involved with this stuff) and look where admin got us?

Who is to say all of this NOPM stuff SISU don't just turn round and liquidate the club if the ground was empty or sell all of our players?

It is ironic how some people act like their gran has just been punched in the face when somebody calls them a muppet, but keeps saying how weak everybody is? Everybody must adhere to their views of NOPM else they are selfish but not allowed to disagree with them else they are selfish and killing the club.

(disclaimer: I think all name calling whether it is scab, mong etc is wrong)

Your view Torch, mine is if no one went this would be resolved much quicker.

So why is somebody weak for not agreeing?

All of this NOPM is not a proven fact it will make the club come back to Coventry is it? There are plenty of options and with how unpredictable SISU have been before, I doubt many of us could guess what they would do. We usually know when it comes to things like this they are a few steps ahead..

Yes, my view. And I'e said in the past that to make a difference there should be either zero fans in the ground (or hill) or we all turn up, 12/13/14K causing chaos. However, I won't criticise those that go in the ground.

Your view Torch, mine is if no one went this would be resolved much quicker.

Those wedding fayres are mega. ACL must be laughing all the way to the bank. Well, laughing cap in hand to CCC anyway.

What was on at the Ricoh to attract 32,000?

I think the Telegraph claimed that city support had risen by about 400 on the first game. Then i think there was an additional 20 odd for the Colchester.

The police I spoke with outside the ground on Sunday said that actual numbers through the gate was less than the official attendance. Who's figures do you trust?

Can't trust any of them.

To think we used to accuse the club of "lowering" the gate, presumably because they didn't want to declare the income.

Now it seems they want to do the opposite.

Yep they just want to pay more tax I guess.

It is one big conspiracy to show the people on the hill up isn't it?

Why do you feel that way Torch? Are they not protesting against the owners with banners etc., but also cheering on the team (I seem to recall some posts here saying the players have acknowledged them).

I hardly think paying tax on the profits of a few hundred people would bother Fisher, when we're ultimately talking of millions of pounds. Why bring the hill into it though Nick? I don't understand how the gates will affect those who go on the hill (unless, of course, you mean those on the hill should be paying to watch the team)?

I'd just like to say how proud I was at the lowly 1,789 attendance for the Colchester game. We have shown resolve for an issue that transcends a short-term urge to watch the team play.

Mr Fisher expected most of us to have crawled back by now but I think the message is loud and clear with SP and most of the media noting our absence despite the entertainment on offer.

The NOPM campaign is looking strong. Keep it up.

Yes, totally agree. The issues at stake are about my principles. I share them with many many sky blue fans. These issues cannot be watered down into the economic imperative enforced by a shadowy hedge fund.
Fisher, the puppet, has as much depth as a puddle in August.

Why else would he want to fabricate attendance if it wasn't to prove people wrong? Thing is, he obviously gave it loads of cockiness when saying people will flock back and we will get x amount which we clearly haven't so he has lost face. Why would adding a cheeky 150 onto a shocking attendance make much difference?

Nick, I agree with you but dunno where you are getting 150 from? I was responding to squirrel's post...

Anyroad, the point I was trying to make was isn't is funny how we USED to accuse the club of down-grading the gates ... now we are accusing them of doing the opposite. Perhaps I worded it wrong.

As i read things, This whole thread seems to have gone wayward?

My interpretation of the OP's post, is that it is his satisfaction at the resolve of people not giving in to temptation in the way fisher thought we would.

I don't think it is a true celebration of our low attendances, but more in the fact that the majority of fans are telling fisher that he has got it wrong.

I think there is nothing more, that all of us would want to see, than our team playing great football in front of a packed Ricoh. To suggest that some are revelling in our low attendances, as an individual reason for celebration, is nonsense.

The thing is, I don't think any city fan truly agrees with the move even if they do go to the game (there will always be a random exception) and that was proved with the march with how many turned out.
