Not happening. I understand we do have a couple of decent loans lined up, but won't be in place at the start of the season. Depending on a couple still going out, we may have one or two more permanent to come, but pretty much have what we're starting with now. Loans won't be finalised until PL complete their 25 man squads approx 2 weeks into season.

So we aren't signing someone till the season starts now?

We will sign more than another one or two permanently

Just to be clear, we're talking of the same player who was courted by a host of European giants & named on the Golden Boy shortlist who only signed a new deal at Arsenal on the promise of first team opportunities?

We think he's just forgotten that now & fancies a stab at a Championship Relegation battle instead?
Yes but first team appearances are we what can offer

If this is true that’s seriously worrying. We don’t even have an adult LWB in the squad, let alone a first team GK and CB.

Happening. I understand we do have several decent loans lined up that will be in place at the start of the season. Depending on a couple still going out, we may have seven or eight more permanent to come, but pretty much miles from what we're starting with now. Loans will be finalised before the PL complete their 25 man squads approx 1 week into season.

Copy, paste, edit.

Not sure why anyone is surprised. We have a budget, most of which goes on wages not signings. As we still have 4 or 5 that we'd like to move on to free up wages, its one in one out and if we make more than 2 more additional permanent signings (for the first team) ahead of the season I'd be amazed. Our budget will be similar to last year and we had less revenue due to Covid. SISU won't be pumping more money in but will allow the management team to have control of how the budget is spent.

We're not far away. We have a new keeper, people want a new LB but let's give Reid a chance, he was signed to play. I understand with CB & possibly a CF or AM too, but if we add Gyo to this squad and one other then wait for loans and could add Osti and a quality AM you'd all be thinking differently. I'm sure after recent seasons other managers trust Robins to play their players regularly and to play the right type of football.

Going to be a long old season.

A back line of a L1 keeper who has barely played since the referendum, a kid who got nowhere near our first team last season, two players unproven since injury, Fadz but a year older and Hyam who looked out of his depth for large chunks of last season. With backup being a kid who hasn’t played above L2, Pask and Dacosta for five positions.

But hey, at least we’ve signed backup strikers and AMs who refuse to turn up to team meetings.

Fuck me you’re a right pessimist. If by the start of the season we haven’t added to the squad then yeah it’s time to worry. I happen to trust the most successful manager we’ve had in years
