They pick and choose their performances and largely turn it on in games where either nothing is at stake or nothing is expected from them. They argue with each other on the pitch more often than I can remember from any City team.

Case in point they win 2 games, think they’re shit hot and then turn in that crap on Wednesday. Weak.
If it's all down to the players wanting it or not there should be no issue with sacking the manager? He's irrelevant?

Rob Edwards probably available after today too
Wouldn't mind Edwards...
Will still have some credit in the bank with Luton - not sure today will finish him.
Unless their chairman is panicking that we might be direct competition for available managers/coaches and and wants to get in the race now.....

Good old fashioned manager swap?

Mark Robins would need 4 transfer windows at Luton to change that team over to actual footballers. Couldn’t see him doing well there unless they are patient. I think their fans would be over the moon with that appointment though.

Edwards did a great tjob but not the style of football I wanna see

But that might have been a needs must situation I dunno

Without looking,
Has Lampard been a "Head Coach" with this structure before....!?!
Is he actually a coach or a manager (who brings his own Vivaesh type team with him)
If the latter, not sure whether this would be wise.

One bonus of Lampard I guess would be that thee players like the fella from Red Star and the one from Ajax have more of a chance of saying yes if someone like Lampard is manager.

I know I make fun, but I think Luton can occasionally be an entertaining watch. Getting the ball forward quickly to big athletic players can be exciting, and up until this season they were defensively pretty good in the Champ I think? I don’t really know how long he’s been in charge there though?

1) can be rectified in 1 window

2) no proof this is true

3) don't be part of the problem
If these points are correct then what benefit comes from sacking MR now?

That’s what they’ve done with this manager. Perhaps a different personality can get more consistency from them, perhaps not. You must admit it is very telling especially from the summer onwards.

Free flowing performances in the summer friendlies, then mostly very poor football thereafter with our best coming against Spurs in a game that didn’t matter. I cannot remember seeing our players argue or have a go at their teammates as often as these do either.

I don't disagree. I never hated aidy boothroyd

But at this moment in time I want high pressure ball on the floor and fluid movement

Just me personally

In all of the fixtures i mentioned there was lots at stake. In most they had to comeback from adversity.

It wasn’t the players fault Mark was out thought by Warne on Wednesday and took 65 mins to change anything.

But then you should understand why robins has gone if you feel new manager can shake it up?

I want defensively sound team that wins games and gets promoted automatically so I don’t have to nervously watch playoffs. I think I need to adjust my expectations though…

If we were to get Lampard he will know that it could be his last ‘big’ chance to show he can cut it in management. If he doesn’t make this work I can’t see a route back in for him unless he drops right down to Legaue 1 or 2 and starts again.

FA Cup games against top flight clubs, nothing is expected and it’s a free hit. Warne didn’t out think anyone. Jack Rudoni goes insane to gift a lead within 10 minutes, we miss a bunch of chances and they score a deflection.

Two very bad teams on show that night. We didn’t look arsed.

Not much longer, imo; 2-0 down today and their fans are after him big style.

Look I can understand why some fans like the idea of Lampard. It’s been a long time as a club since we have been linked to big footballing “names” such as his. I just don’t think he fits with our DNA as a club whatsoever.

we’ve got where we have being underdogs, building something where we aren’t the flashiest name, but with a good group who knows there identity. I don’t want to be all over sky coverage as “Frank Lampards Coventry City”
But we're not underdogs now, there is expectation

My view was he should have been given more time-not the whole season, more until Christmas when if we’re still in trouble there’s little argument change would be needed.

During games you see often how not having any leaders out there hurts us in a range of situations, winning or losing.

What exactly is our DNA as a club?

I agree I would have given him more time to sort it

Lampard will also be much financially better off because of his playing career.

I'm just pointing out that saying "he's bad" because of not being in a job is a bit too simplistic.

Wasn’t his win rate at his last job 9%?

Most supporters weren't demanding a change (in manager) this time
Completely different, one was a club legend and another is someone that not many people rate and not many want before he's even been appointed. He won't get much time from the fan base if things start not going well.

I do think Lampard could have us playing some decent attacking football.

The worry is that his teams have always been defensively awful and given our defensive frailties this season that is a scary prospect.
