Why not just hire Morris then? Club statement talked about a structure, a Head Coach, taking our time etc. You need a 'Leader' and Morris maybe isn't that, or doesn't want to be, and I accept the role title is largely to make clear transfers etc. aren't a one man show, but I'm not convinced that it wouldn't just be the name we're hiring.
If King and co. can't be consistent with what they say with the actions they take, I'll be worried. Taking your argument fwd, there's got to be wiser ways to spend our budget than hiring Lampard because he comes with a good coach in Morris. Just do what we do with players; find value, make decisions based on evidence.
