One thing I haven’t really seen mentioned on here is if he does come based on being abit choosey on the overlap and other interviews. He will bring Morris with him at least, who is by all accounts a fantastic coach. If the good intentions post is true about the quality of the new ones, think this appointment will get the coaching back to a high level and might tempt other coaches to join us (Thinking John Terry from Chelsea U21s)
Who says Jody Morris is a fantastic coach? He’s currently unemployed and his last job at Swindon he was sacked from with a 22% win percentage.
Did well in Chelsea Academy granted but if we’re going to compare then he’s got no different record and credentials to the coaches we’ve got currently.

We’ve been Mark Robins Coventry City for a number of years. It didn’t bother us then why should it bother us now.
Point I was making was the ridiculous thing Sky now do especially with NFL - the away team playing at the home teams ground….. Ravens @ 49ers etc.

Even our own socials.
Media channels did it for the Sunderland game.
I was just developing the idea of the original post.

Tbh if Lampard ends up with an offer to go elsewhere it means he's done a pretty good job and at this point I would take that...
Depends what you define as "pretty good"?
Did no more than 'ok' at Derby & jumped ship at the first opportunity & left them in total disarray.

Well if he's offered a step up then he hasn't done bad has he and tbh I genuinely would take that at this point cause I have a terrible hunch that sacking Robins could be a car crash decision

Unfair to say he left Derby in disarray, it was Mel Morris and his hyper overspending that got Derby in the shit... not Lampard

Of course Mr Ashley did his utmost to pick them up but was unsuccessful, of course they had lost control of the ground, I think it was already mortgaged to someone else from what I remember.
It's so refreshing to see the caution has evaporated round here!

Mike Ashley only wanted them at a cut down price when they were distressed so he could get his mitts on Pride Park and slap his tacky advertising everywhere

Quite why people think he would be any good for CCFC is a mystery to me

He left for Chelsea. The team he spent years playing for.
Yes. And?
The point made was that if he jumped ship from us at the first opportunity it must be that he'd done alright by us & we'd be better off for it. I simply asked how that worked out for Derby.

Random side bar, but you know the american media all do this? For the NFL all coverage is listed as away team @ home team. Thats not a sky thing.

Fair do’s - every day is a school day.

it’s annoying me how it’s creeping in over here though - it won’t be long before Sky start using it on the football coverage.

New managers often seem like a solution then turn out not to be. Sometimes the good ones are the unexpected ones.

Lampard reminds me too much of Butcher and Coleman. I could be wrong?

I think there are several Premier League Club jobs due to come up, so I doubt we will get him anyway.

Lets hope whoever comes kicks us on again and takes us to the next level. But whoever it is will need to be given time by King and the fans.

I’m slightly warming to the idea of Lampard, for reasons even I can’t explain. It’s probably just that I want it done and dusted

We were always going to get a relatively untested rookie - probably one who has enjoyed some success at a lower level - or a more experienced one who has failed elsewhere and been sacked.

It is probably fair to say that MR really only enjoyed success with us and he will go to another club despite his recent perceived failure with us and consequential sacking.

Yeah but.....
… That’s in the Premiership! The managers won’t be as good in the Championship is my hope!

Unless there’s a curveball being thrown our way, Lampard is probably the best candidate in the field atm. Which is probably telling in of itself. Had we waiting a few weeks, Cooper could’ve been available.

The timing of this sacking was lunacy unless we’ve earmarked Lampard before swinging the axe.
