Betting suspended now, usually a sign it's completed and everything looks like it's FL. Wouldn't have been my choice, but I'll back him and hope everyone does.
Is it suspended every where?

So only 1 in 5 thought Lampard would be a good choice but reading through this lot you would think the majority are in favour. The problem is that those who shout the loudest are normally wrong more often than right.

If Lampard is confirmed of course he will get my full backing. And if he proves me wrong I would be delighted to admit so. Maybe King would allow him to bring loans in. But I'm certainly not going to get excited over his appointment.

Fuck it... it is what it is

I'm still not entirely sold but Frank will be getting my full support

Do kind of admire that he (as well as Rooney) are dead set on forging a decent career in management... they do not need to do it, they could just ride off into the sunset with their millions already in the bank or go to Saudi to earn yet more! Hope it works out for him

For my part, this is how I feel about Lampard coming.

Always felt with this that Lampard actually wants the job. Van Nistelrooy probably through that journo has tried to play us. Fair play to Doug if he's fucked him off. Probably why that journo is making out it was all on Van Nistelrooy's terms. Suspect even if appointed he'd have been keeping his powder dry for Burnley or Leicester. Hope Doug hangs him out to dry.

You can just tell that any appointment was going to be met with negativity by some fans. I'm excited for a new chapter and will be fully behind him.

They certainly have. And on both sides of the coin. Seems like some are all or nothing whatever the subject is. The truth is normally somewhere in the middle.

Personally, it just seems like an easy way out. The original statement said we'd take our time and do the job properly.

The fact King mentioned him last Monday was odd. If asked by a journo, owners are usually coy and discreet, not him.

I'll support him like I have every other manager, but fuck me, it's an anticlimax. Was hoping we'd do the young foreign coach thing.

Why are people so upset at Lampard.

Very little difference on paper between him and Ruud expect he has more experience in the league.

Both excel at developing players and if Lampard wants more say over the players considering who he brought in at Derby surely that’s a good thing.

Would rather have someone who wants to be here versus someone who already thinks they can do better.

Most people don't seem to be upset with Lampard taking over. More like being realistic on what could happen.

My biggest plus point on Lampard would be his contacts where we could get some decent loans. But we have an owner who is against loans. If he lets Lampard bring in loans why wouldn't he let Robins bring in loans knowing we are light in a few positions.

Doug clarified loans though didn’t he. We need loan players who are good enough to take us to the next level as if we don’t play them, then we won’t get anymore.

Frank will be able to pull some high profile loans. Also think the telegraph had a piece from Doug saying we’re looking at loans for January

don’t know who applied etc…

but I know 2 things

1- it was Frank the whole time for king. he hasn’t really thought out the box with this
2- Lampard won 1 in 20 matches last time he was in management

He’s a big name. Anyone else managerial career would be in tatters winning one in 20
I mean it’s not like he’s on the up after Chelsea to Coventry.

what’s a high profile loan?

Tbh I'm not sold on Lampard either but the owner could have appointed Jurgen Klopp and you'd have picked a fault with it🤷‍♂️

would I? I’m a cov fan and want what’s best for the club. Lampard doesn’t feel the right fit

Robins has gone. I want whoever comes in to do it for us.

doesn’t mean I can’t question it

Because it seems to that name won over substance here. He's hardly set the managerial world alight in the past. He is more of a manager than a head coach. Seems mad to jettison stability for such a underwhelming appointment.

Ive no doubt this was nailed on from the moment Robins was sacked.

I don't think anyone attainable feels like the right fit, we have been used to the same man in the dug out for 7 years and it will take time to adjust

I do feel some people, not necessarily yourself are going to be chomping at the bit to jump down Frank's throat the minute we lose a game though
