I just don’t see how someone with mediocre management experience over the past 7 years can be seen as an improvement on someone with an exemplary management experience over the past 7 years.

Offer other teams in this league Lampard v Robins and they’re snatching your hand off for Robins.

That's because other clubs only see the good stuff. If you ask around, they know Robins for the promotions on limited budgets and getting us to an FA Cup semi final.

They don't see the near 8 months or awful home from and the post Adi/Dennis collapse.

I doubt robins will attract huge interest from top clubs in this league

Detached from the club? TRY and get behind the manager

It’s not Mark Robins FC
This is peak irony from a man that literally didn’t post on the football thread for 4 days (only politics) from the moment we took the lead at Middlesbrough until we started losing at Derby, when you were posting every 2 mins again.

And for what it’s worth, I literally say in the post you’re replying to that I will get behind him. Not that you ever did for Robins despite promotions, Wembley wins and Fa cup heroics.

Would they though?

I guess we will see where Robins next job is.

You said you will try to

The cup run saved robins last season. He was given more rope than most managers.

Yeah and then you replied saying “at least try to”.. after I’d literally just said I will try to.

I think you’re looking for an argument and I can’t be arsed mate. We’re all on the same side of wanting Cov to succeed. Well, you’ve just rejoined us after 7 years. Welcome back x

Undewhelming, but until announced I'll still hope for somebody else and that rumours aren't true!
Like who? We all have the Potter and Moyse wish list type managers in mind but no one on this thread has come up with a viable alternative of someone who plays attractive forward thinking football with championship experience. The ones that have been mentioned so far were sacked form previous clubs for playing crap football.

He won't, yet people think Premier League sides will be in for him 😂

I don't think you'll find one person who has said that. Even when he was here and we were doing well Robins was routinely ignored when jobs came up.

Surely 90% of managers at this level join after failing somewhere else? People who talk about Potter, why is he seen any different to Lampard at Chelsea?

Either you get inexperience or someone who’s been sacked from their last job

90 pages in I’m going to throw my hat into the ring, for what it’s worth.

Did I want Mark Robins gone? 100% not, still smarting now, awful decision hang your head in shame Doug King. Frank Lampard, class player, intelligent, grafter with a strong desire to do his absolute best and get the best out of his players.

Forget his stints at Chelsea and Everton the stakes are too high in the Premier League for a new young manager to cut his teeth and learn the trade, ruthless and many young aspiring managers will fall on the sword trying to do so. That said his first stint at Chelsea in his first season was a success when you consider their transfer embargo when he joined finishing 4th with a young squad. He also got them out of their Champions League group the following season before the sword ruthlessly fell, he’s no mug.

My only reservation with him coming here is will he be afforded the time? Doug King has, to me proved impatient and this could lead to him becoming “trigger happy” moving forward, also us, the fans, will we turn like some did with Mark Robins after, admittedly, a poor run of form/results?

I may be completely wrong here, but, I think he will do ok, if left alone and given time, however, I’m not sure he will get either of those as we enter the manager merry-go-round, anyway, I know I’m in a minority here, but yes I am in the Frank Lampard corner and if he does get the job I will of course back him 100%.
