If we need a more defensive option, could we throw Kitching into left fullback? Think he’s played there before?
Good grief no. The truth is none of our defenders really offer what we need, and it shows by the ridiculously soft goals we keep giving away.

Bidwell is fine. There is another myth that needs debunking which says JDS is more progressive. I can't think of a single goal he's created. I could be wrong, but can't recall one.

Under the current group of coaches the team has gone backwards as have individual performances. Every coach will need to leave the club or drop down as a new set of ideas needs to come in at the 1st team level. Carr may get the opportunity to stay with the 1st team but i don't think it will be long before all involved in 1st team duties now are forced out or down to the U23's. And i think that is a good thing.

Off the top of my head, he crossed for one of Godden’s goals at Cardiff last season

Created is a strong word but he got the assist at Derby. Only one he’s got all year playing in a a system which plays through our wingbacks. Not brilliant

I'm only saying what King deems a success. If this season is a write off (I completely agree it is), then success can only be play offs next season.
I don’t think it’s a write off yet. Looking at the turnaround we had in 22/23 and even Cooper taking Forest from bottom to 3rd the year before… a good run of form will correct course.

Get January back and we could be ‘so back’.

I just want Lampard to be done and dusted so the bed wetting f*cks off. I’ll give any manager a chance right now if it means we can start looking at the January window and getting stuck into the squad.

So the way everyone is talking Joe Edwards is going to be Lampard's No2. Doesn't that sound like Lampard is going to be a 'manager' rather than 'head coach' and what happened to the DoF ??

Couldn't say which games but he certainly created goals from crosses. This season too. Might just be the one, mind.

He has 4 assists to Bidwell's 2 over this season and last season.

He's miles better on the ball than Bidwell, who's only move is a hopeful ball down the channel or a floated cross to no one.

His managerial career in England is over if he fails with us.
Agreed. At least at the top end of the Championship and above.

We’ve got a good squad, he’ll have all the resources needed to succeed and as a club we represent a great opportunity for him to restore his reputation as a good young manager.

We aren’t going down. Talk of relegation battles and the aim being to stay up is dramatic and premature.

We have a good squad. We have a new coach coming in which will a) naturally galvanise the squad and b) bring new ideas.

Saturday afternoon we all felt pretty good about the performance and result, and were actually disappointed we didn’t win. We play poorly tonight and suddenly it’s relegation talk.

Now, if we don’t get a good run of results over the next few weeks then talk of a boring bottom half finish is fine, but we still won’t go down.

Even usually balanced posters have been swept up by the usual negative ones!

Totally agreed- all this talk of relegation battles is utter nonsense. I’m still looking for comfortable top ten. Too many people getting caught up in the mass negativity.

We had 6 more points after 17 games and although 8 points behind 6th we had 2-3 games in hand on every one else in the league due to the pitch debacle. We'd have to what we did that season plus 6 points.

Forest were 5 points ahead of us, and only 4 points off play offs after 17 games the season before

We're already 10 off 6th, and no games in hand. We will need about 57 points from the remaining 29 games with a Powerpuff defence and still another 7-8 games before we can bring reinforcements in. That's about 17 wins, 6 draws and 6 losses.

Mathematical is possible, but this squad isn't good enough.

Dasilva certainly isn't going to create the 2 goals a game that we need to score to guarantee a point.

He will be making very quick assessments on players and the coaches left. And the direction he is taking will become very clear to those he doesn't rate. His future in this business depends on it which is why i assume its been a long negotiation period.

Do it over 3 seasons?

Think Steve Taylor was linked with the role recently but the head coach was always going to come first
