I think the changes were logical on paper - but they were clearly pre-planned and, ultimately, they disrupted our momentumt sure you can call them ‘spot on’.The subs were bang on. Wright and Eccles had run themselves into the ground. Bassette as well, and Simms was a perfectly logical choice. The way we lost was disappointing, but decisions were spot on.
For me, we need to phase our subs, particularly against that quality of opposition: i.e., take Bassette off, reflect on the impact that’s had on the game (plus Madisson + Son), then apply the necessary changes to tighten in midfield.
