The biggest questions lie for the security forces, counter terrorism and maybe MI6.
This violent far right movement based around EDL, football gangs and fascist parties has been building for years.
Southport was bound to develop into a serious incident given what had happened with other riots. Instead of being ready to nip it on the bud they left a handful of local coppers to get battered, the thing to simmer and spread on social media.
They now need to quickly convict and jail for years some of the most violent as an example. And go after the ringleaders as a priority.
Interesting thread.
I hate to say it but once the local communities being persecuted mobilise and give these piss weak chavs a good hiding they will disappear back into their holes for a long time
The police certainly left the Harehills rioters pretty much alone. That wasn’t a right wing initiated riot. The movement or people close to it have been in government for the last 5 years at least. I wouldn’t be surprised if the police and spooks have been told to leave them alone. Very fine people and all that.

Oh, I see. I didn’t realise it was OK to riot as long as it wasn’t planned.Nothing to do with the standard police response to riots. It’s about the planned series of riots. You can tell this is about the election and not much else.

If you throw Tamworth and Solihull into the Birmingham region, is Coventry now the only big city in the England without any riots?
Let's keep it this way and stop anyone even attempting to organise something.

The Tory Government, Sunak with their Stop The Boats rhetoric was always going to rile the neanderthals on the right.
Stoked nicely by Robinson, Farage, Fox et al.
James Cleverly (oh, the irony) was on this morning criticising the Government for their response, scoring a few political points, while at the same time denying the previous Government had any responsibility for what is happening.
He's a twat, but no one takes much notice of him and he is sad and harmless/ineffective. What's your comparison point?People also latch onto to George Galloway

While i don't entirely subscribe to your theory, there is definitely a post-election vacuum with regard to control of immigration issues. While the new government would inevitably have some wriggle-room or honeymoon period for getting stuff in place, they have already done (or said they will do) quite a lot on other stuff (reforming planning laws, public sector pay, etc) but there is s definite lack of action on immigration, which is not helping to quench the flames of the right. The right from Farage to the mental Tories like Braverman and the like are very close with the leaders of these riots. The chattering right like Oakshott are giving it cover, and the respectable right like the rest of the Tories are happy to use it to bash a three week old govt.
It’s very obviously coordinated. And a bunch of working class idiots and kids are going to take the brunt of the response while the rest continue to spout their shit and get paid handsomely for it.
Even Priti Patel understands the difference....
Claims that there is “two-tier policing” in Britain, where right-wing protests are dealt with more harshly than left-wing ones, are “not correct”, Dame Priti Patel has said.
The former home secretary told Times Radio:
There is a clear difference between effectively blocking streets or roads being closed, to burning down libraries, hotels, food banks and attacking places of worships.
What we have seen is thuggery, violence, racism.
She added:
Those kinds of comments are simply not relevant right now. That is not correct, it is not correct.

Even Priti Patel as if she isnt one of the main instigators in all this. Shes a disgusting human.Even Priti Patel understands the difference....

It was predicting in 2016 that uncurbed immigration would result in riots and it’s been proved correct
So the conservatives had 8 years to do something then.
Who is saying otherwise? Well you probably would have said it’s a racist thing to say.
Anyone else find these buzz words cringe
"Lefty", "Gammon", "Hard Right, "Wokey"
Just cringe
That depends on your definition of un-curbed. In 2016 we ensured that 2019 happened which ensured that Boris immediately relaxed the standards for immigration, ultimately leading to a peak of 1.2 million immigrants arriving perfectly legally in 2022. So to say it was un-curbed is complete bollocks. The ultimate irony being that the people who championed and voted for this change genuinely thought they’d voted for the exact opposite. Most still do.It was predicted in 2016 that uncurbed immigration would result in riots and it’s been proved correct

Yeah, nothing is more ironic than British people using french words to describe themselves as some sort of Uber nationalist. If you’re going to live here learn to speak English.“patriot”
I think you mean 1968It was predicted in 2016 that uncurbed immigration would result in riots and it’s been proved correct

Yes, with ironic echoes of Enoch Powell. No it’s a quote from 2016 they said unless migration was cut as promised by Brexit there would at some point be rioting on the streets
Those in charge have never had any serious intention of cutting migration. It was inevitable that non-EU migration would go up.No it’s a quote from 2016 they said unless migration was cut as promised by Brexit there would at some point be rioting on the streets
