Of course you could argue that an increase in funding to the police, whilst a change in approach towards international relations, is exactly what is needed.
Now we could debate whether Corbyn's change in approach is what's needed (and I suspect we're all entrenched in that) but the general principal isn't entirely stupid...
The frustrating thing is the manifesto could have had some of the senior parliamentary MPs right behind it, I reckon. There's never been any need for Abbot to be there!
Funding the police more will help of course.
However, ripping apart MI5, taking down the shoot to kill policy, and a more lapsed immigration/deportation ideology will not.
Why are they all so shit?
Yes I am, I just wish Scotland and Wales would wake up to the fact that they canIs anybody else weirdly looking forward to Thursday night and some absolutely mad results that nobody predicted coming out. Like safe seats switching hands all over the shop.
I fear after all this, it'll be an as-you-were!Is anybody else weirdly looking forward to Thursday night and some absolutely mad results that nobody predicted coming out. Like safe seats switching hands all over the shop.
I hope something happens. I'd prefer the monks from Dr. Who to 5 more years of these numpties.I fear after all this, it'll be an as-you-were!
Seems there's little appetite for change, whatever any of the parties do or don't do.

For clarity I'm not defending the spending or even arguing with your assumption that investment hasn't increased, merely that name calling and saying you work there doesn't offer you the upper hand over his alternative position.
I'd also add that I barely know anyone in the NHS who isn't anti Tory, it's bred in them to complain about pay, even the non medical staff which is where there is so much waste. Funding needs increasing for sure but only in the right areas and that's direct care not administration.
Well yeah, but they have always been here haven't they.I hope something happens. I'd prefer the monks from Dr. Who to 5 more years of these numpties.
No I think the views of the older generation should not be dismissed as the ideological left attempt to do.
Investment isn't rising you utter dope. It's not even keeping up with the increase in demand (o and I've worked in the NHS for 3 years so I know first hand)

Ok. I shouldn't have called you dope, so apologies for that. Adjusted for inflation the budget is rising 0.6% a year to 2021, much lower than historical trends and insufficient for the rise in demand + requirements for capital investment to improve facilities.Another well thought out reply from you.
For the period of 2014 - 2021 the budget will rise by £8.4B. The government actually tried to claim that the amount was £10B but almost £2B was announced in the previous parliament so the £10B figure is widely dismissed by media, political commentators, the opposition parties and NHS boses and the £8.4B figure widely accepted in it's place. But you know better.
So far you've dismissed two structured arguments with facts and figures from myself labeling me an "utter dope" in the process. Either come back with something to prove me wrong or take a look in the mirror pal.
For the record. I never defended the budget, I acknowledged it wasn't much from the off and I never slated or laid blame on the staff of the NHS. Why you've chosen to get on your high horse and act like a total prick is bemusing.

The NHS will be privatised under a Conservative administration, its one of the things in Their sightsOk. I shouldn't have called you dope, so apologies for that. You maybe haven't noticed, but Jeremy Corybin is running rings around May in thisSuch a shame that Yvette Cooper is not the Labour leader. She would run rings around May in the current climate.
I have noticed but he lacks credibility as he is perceived as a friend of terrorists and an opponent of anti-terror legislation. Cooper has no such baggage. You maybe haven't noticed, but Jeremy Corybin is running rings around May in this
Current climate, it's just not reported that way.
The shoot to kill policy is not going to be taken away is it?
Let's be honest - what happened on Saturday showed what will really happen in those defining moments. The decision will rest in the hands of the armed police - no one is going to be phoning the PM to check if it's OK to shoot.
If Cooper were the one in the firing line, she would be under attack the same as Corybin is, TheI have noticed but he lacks credibility as he is perceived as a friend of terrorists and an opponent of anti-terror legislation. Cooper has no such baggage.
But that's not on the cards is it, in an ongoing situation like Saturday it is obviouslyWhat would happen if it were made illegal to shoot to kill and policemen were faced with murder charges if they did so?

The right thing to do, but we don't want to follow the states where police are getting
Away with shooting unarmed citizens over very trivial matters, do we.

How would the legislation work so that it's ok to shoot sometimes?

She has plenty of baggage she is Mrs Ed Balls that is more than any person should carry.
I honestly think that if Andy Burnham was in charge Labour would be ahead and win.
I always though that Dan Jarvis would do well.
isn't that what we currently have?
Ok guys, so.... what's the fart count in and around parliament over the last few days? Any stinkers from May? Any belters from Corbyn? News going around that apparently Farron let off a ripper?
Tories will win this election. To even suggest otherwise is a tad deluded. Tories got a majority with ukip getting 4m votes so now about half of ukip are going back to Tory this just further strengthens their seats and majority. Snp will take the lions share in Scotland meaning labour can't win this election. I know this post won't be popular but it is the reality. Tory majority of 30-50 seats is my best guess.
