Look at his goal on the highlights. Great feet interchange and a perfect finish. The commentators were waxing lyrical.

He has scored a few individual goals of real quality yet gets little adulation compared to Stevenson (shocking today), Haynes, Bigi etc. He is a real prospect compared to them.

He may be a huge player next season.

I dont know how you can say Stevenson was shocking. Wasnt his best game but you need to lighten up a bit

Yes great goal and as always works hard. Personally I think he misses a little speed to be a really good player but at our level is more than good enough. Thought Bigi had a very good game today; yes a few wayward passes but was everywhere. Took his goal well and covered the defence throughout. Stevenson quiet but did his job.

I agree that Thomas is going to be a good footballer (called it last year doncha know) but Stevenson played well too Imo, part of the midfield that controlled the game

I remember at the start of the season, I think it was the first Tuesday night home game, some on here saying he's the worst player to ever play for the club, should never play again blah blah.

I doubt he'll be here next season, but I really hope he is.

I've said it for almost 2 years, George will be a brilliant player when his development peaks.

He'll be here next year, as long as he doesn't score any more belters of course.

Reid was absolutely immense today and should/would have been MOM if Thomas hadn't scored. Good all round performance, and Burge deserves a hell of a lot of credit for the way he made some superb saves.

I have to say, I thought Reid was one of our worst players.

Reid really blows hot and cold. He's got terrible decision making and makes some howlers and makes things harder than they should be for a player of his talent, but when he's on it he's our best attacker.

He's like a pound shop Jacob Murphy.

Reid worked tirelessly all game and put effort in the whole 90 minutes.

Jolly decent if him. Shame he's done fuck all 95% of the other times he's rolled out on the pitch

Given he is without doubt one of the highest earners he has been a total let down this season.

Well he's proved me wrong , always happy to admit it .
Lads come on leaps and bounds with game time , tie him down on a long term deal

One commentator said his goal was comparable to Messi. Now that is a bit OTT but if he can start scoring bread and butter goals as well he will be a big player next season

Start of the season he was way too top heavy, was very slow.

Came back a different player.

When the winger's being played on the wing, it helps!

As for Thomas, exvellent goal, worked hard all game and was always involved. His first touch was lacking a few times mind. If he keeps the energy up, there's a player there.

I guess it must look different on the TV, but that's crap. He was struggling 2nd half fitness wise, we were making progress down the right a few times and he made no effort whatsoever to get in the box for when the cross came over. Was jogging. That's normal for him last 20 mins of games.

See I put that down partly to the fact if he'd gone past his man, there was nobody up with him to cross to unless he held it up a bit.

Im talking about crosses from the opposite wing, where he could have made effort to get in the box to be on the end of a cross. Not him taking players on and crossing himself.

Fair enough. What's a left and right between friends!

I thought Thomas, Bigi and Reid (Okay and Burges too, he made some cracking saves) could easily have won MoTM. Reid beat his man nearly every time he took him on, using the same trick over and over to the point where they had two on him and he was still beating them.

He has scored a few individual goals of real quality yet gets little adulation compared to Stevenson (shocking today), Haynes, Bigi etc. He is a real prospect compared to them.

He may be a huge player next season.

Maybe you could just give them all credit instead of trying to be divisive on a day like today.
Great goal, the lad works tiredlessly every match. Bigi was my MOM personally but I like Thomas a lot.

This thread was started to mention bigi lets be honest.
Apart from his screwed shot after 10 mins the guy just like the rest of his team mates had a good game, would you really want to fault or criticise, even Burge had a good game, shame its too little too late.

I think Stevenson was overawed by the occasion today especially when our fans started the Sunderland roar he seemed to be like a rabbit. The experience will have bought him on in leaps and bounds though. But George Thomas is my latter day LLoyd Mcgrath he was immemse today.

At this level he's the real deal. Cracking goal under pressure and barely put a foot wrong all game.

Obviously Grendel uses it to get his dig in at certain players like the toolbox he is though. What a life.

The point actually is Thomas never seems to get any adulation compared to the others at all.

There were threads started earlier in the season blatantly slagging him off. Even after the Bristol goal some were still saying retain all the other players mentioned but he's not good enough.

I suspect he's just going to be one of those players whose work goes unnoticed most of the time.

His first touch and work rate are always impeccable. He also makes outstanding runs which is why so often he's through one on one (and always fucks it up!) Still some improvements needed but now he's adding goals to his game he's a very important player. In my opinion he's our player of the season, especially after yesterday
