The thing here Is that It Is a published figure that Is grossly Inflated .

IT may be what got nicks goat and It's OK to call me out on It If you want Nick..

The TV evidence today showed somewhere around half the suggested 1300,I was generous In the match thread and said 700.

The police told us in the second half there were 1400 in the ground in total. Now if anyone thinks I'm happy about this they're wrong I take no pleasure in us being the lowest supported team in the league I also don't take credit for it.

Wingy is it possible to get pictures of the crowd and do a careful count. Then forward the results to the FL of the real attendance as evidence of the fan reaction.

Now that would be good. But they could easily argue the reason it's 200 less in the pictures is cus they are buying pies :thinking about:

This is ridiculous. There were 150 behind one goal and when I saw the accusation there was only 700 I did a quick count In the area to the left of the corporates and there was 500 at least and the corporate bit was full. The figure quoted was accurate.

I think I'll put more trust in wingy's estimation than your 'estimated fact'. (picture tweeted by @BBCCovSport)

Must have been a good game if you found time to count the crowd...pretty sad really

How can you do a "quick count" of 1300 people?

Not many on the hill either today. Bit of sunshine, some good football on the telly, poor away form - yep enough to keep your Cov fan at home.

Or maybe the worst case scenario is starting to take effect, people doing other things than all things CCFC. To be honest I am beginning to think what is the fucking point because although we love the team, it seems that the biggest single thing that is going to affect us is nothing to do with football. Rather than looking on the pitch, you will have more people tuning into the outcome of the JR.

How about this then, just factual stuff, CCFC lowest 20 ever home league attendances.

This is in date order:

2204 11-Aug-13 Bristol City (@1100 - no official figure I can find)
2068 25-Aug-13 Preston North End (1507)
1789 08-Sep-13 Colchester United (1527)
2046 15-Sep-13 Gillingham (1675)
2650 29-Sep-13 Brentford (1737)
2078 13-Oct-13 Sheffield United (1112)
2386 22-Oct-13 Leyton Orient (1608)
2693 02-Nov-13 Notts County (2150)
1815 23-Nov-13 Tranmere Rovers (1637)
1961 26-Nov-13 Rotherham (1444)
1618 14-Dec-13 Crewe Alexander (1375)
4905 26-Dec-13 Peterborough (2703)
3347 29-Dec-13 Oldham (2823)
2128 12 -Jan-14 Crawley (1936)
1603 18-Feb-14 Carlisle United (1412)
1966 02-Mar-14 Shrewsbury (1575)
1637 05-Mar-14 Walsall (1141)
1627 16-Mar-14 Port Vale (1282)

The worrying thing is how much that has dropped since early November. I'd like to see raw City fans only numbers, but aside from Christmas we haven't broken 2000 in over 4 months.

Next season we could be seeing 1500 as the norm. People who are going to change their mind in favour of going wont wait until the summer. Those who are leaving might.

Edit: added in the home attendances in brackets. Not so clear cut looking just at that TBF.

nick - you are so blinkered - our club is taken away from us - and that is the sole reason why most of us wernt enjoying watching them at the ricoh in the sun this weekend. It is quite possible we may never see our team play in the football league in coventry again - and you dont want us to talk about it

until and if we come back to coventry - the football is not as important as the other stuff - god hope that one day we need not concern ourselves with the other stuff - but for now - we do

That's right Sam but you're forgetting about taking a balanced approach which is by far and away the most important thing. Can't upset anyone with partial thinking can we?

Someone on GMK said that he moved stands at half time so wasn't on the picture, presumably others moved too?

http://www.gmkonline.com/?page=foru...nts to rubbish the club. He should be banned.

At the risk of being accused of going off topic, Sixfields on CCFC match day reminds me of a leper colony.

Really? Try counting again.

Approx 120-150 behind the goal. 250 in the away end. 1000-1200 in the main stand.

p.s. those whistles are terrible. At least try blowing them at relevant moments instead of when the ball is out of play or someone is down injured. If by 'making an impact' you mean people commenting on how shit someone's life must be to drive 35 miles to blow a whistle, then yes you could say they made an impact.

Unfortunately this bickering, and our two late goals, cover up the main issue, that today was another alarmingly poor performance for the most part. Having said that, I would have taken a point before kick off.

Not as bad as driving 35 miles to sit in that shit hole......

I went. This is actually nothing new. Last year the same stupid accusations were made about attendances being manipulated. Why would they. If its zero fans the league will still support the stance so this is all nonsense.

Thats not what the referee thought:eek:

Yes thatm picture shows approx 40 fans. However it only shows 2 of the 5 blocks behind the goal. Admittedly there were only 5 people maximum in the furthest block along, but most fans in that stand congregate in the first two blocks, adjacent to the toilets/food stall/exits....

Not quite sure why i'm attempting to argue with mongs on here. People who go every week know that it's always the same 120-150 behind that goal every time. The only people who disagree are those who don't go. I would also wager that the 1200-1500 sixfield attendees make up a hefty chunk of the "die hard" away support, so i'm not sure why they are constantly derided on here.
