What's the issue ? Man helped fund academy and training facilities and much more , never asked for a penny back and you've got a weird gripe about it .. you don't need to say anything ?

Why does his disciples keep bringing it up? Like he needs his ego massaging?
Mr Overson, "Thank you."

Now join the long list of people who have put money and probably more money, into the club anonymously during its history.

Where have I said I am annoyed? Just questioning why people want to keep pushing him forward like we should be forever grateful?

To me him and his mates seem to be the ones annoyed because the new owner doesn't want him involved?

You said he didn't want any return on the money he (and I would say generously put in), so what is your issue or point?

There really are some bitter backstabbing bar stewards on here.
Look I don’t know this Overson bloke. I hadn’t a clue what he had,OR hadn’t done for the club. So he is obviously not some billy big bollocks. I have never met him, and probably never will.
But ex players and others connected to the club, have spoken out and said how much he has done individually to help the club.
Ok so he obviously has money. He chose to spend his money helping the club we support, I don’t give two f**** whether he helped with the pitch, wages, transport, the training ground or anything else. He used HIS money to help my club.
So let’s just cut all this shit out and be glad he was around when he was.
And be honest if it was your own cash, would you have spent so much of it on the club for nothing in return ?

Agreed. Some really bitter people on this platform. Clearly Richard Overson has helped out during the dark days as Saddle says with Vic & Godden's goodbye messages mentioning him and also Mark Robins words about him yet people start slagging him off. As far as I'm aware he's never asked for a pat on the back yet he gets attacked by some. Weird.

I'm obviously not going to am I it's someone else's documents to share.

You want to post your bank statements on here? Ridiculous request, if you choose not to believe me I'm fine with it, but ask yourself why players like Godden, and Vik in his leaving video last year, thank Overson personally, alongside Robins always waxing lyrical about him

First 3 paragraphs are total fabricatoon.

I have literally seen the invoice in which Overson paid for the pitch, want it personally inboxed to you you quilt?

You offered!!

You made a statement and I asked you to back it up. You may have received something from someone but it will not show Richard Overson paid for the pitch - end of. You might or have been deliberately "misled"

There you are - giving you the benefit of the doubt

I think Overson gets criticised because his cronies constantly criticise King because King turned off his access all areas privileges under Boddy et al.

He went to Covid matches, parties with the players after key matches etc etc. He may not have asked for anything but he got quite a lot.

Good luck to him I say but maybe tone down the criticism of the new regime ….

yeah I think that's fair. he did a hell of a lot for the club for sure but also got a lot back. the sort of access most people on here would love to have.

and then as soon as King came in and decided things were going to be run professionally and not rely on the generosity of people who, at the end of the day, had no financial stake in the business the impression was that it was a bit toys out of the pram. If not from him certainly from his hangers on.

all part of the upward trajectory of the club really.

But why do you need to see evidence. The bloke has told you, leave it be. What’s the ferkin problem? Got done didn’t it ? Doubt SISU kin paid for it.
Why can’t people on this forum discuss anything without trying to score points all the fuckin time ?
It’s tedious and boring, and probably losing us posters.
I presume most of you are grown men, start acting like it.
Im an old twat now. I played rugby, we used to meet up Sunday morning and discuss the previous days game. If you insulted blokes the way you lot do on here, you’d of got a smack in the chops.

I don't need to see any "evidence" that Overson paid - because it does not exist. I am not trying to score any points off anybody however you should question why people come on here and spout factually incorrect statements. Presumably "to score points"?

Overson did not pay for the pitch repair. The figure was not £450,000

King had no financial activities prior to his share acquisition with 'SISU'
etc

There is the insult - expecting people to believe the above. I suspect the writer has been conned and the statements are not of his invention. I cannot be any fairer than that to him

The same poster made comments regarding King not paying for the club that are clearly false - it’s perfectly legitimate to question the validity of what essentially is an unsubstantiated claim

I watch with interest from the sidelines, but if we're having an ITK competition then oldfiver is pretty high up there wrt financials surrounding the club at that time.

I can't remember many strikers I've liked as much as Matty Godden, up until late 2022.

Clinical finisher, great touch, clever movement. I recall his goal at Derby after the exchanges with O'Hare, and that clever stretched finish at Millwall in August 2022.

Sadly though, once Vik had broken through, during the 22/23 season, Matty was no longer the top man.

We obviously shifted our play, tactics etc. to get the best out of Vik and it didn't suit Godden at all.

Those games at the tail end of the 22/23 Play off surge with Godden playing as a kind of target man or foil for Vik were a hard watch.

Last season was as bad, and despite his early goals during the campaign he still was anonymous for the most part, and snapped at the few chances that did come his way.

He will score 15+ for Charlton next season without doubt.

Good luck Matty Godden.
