The Darkness hail from the town in which I live, Justin Hawkins was a handy darts player
Who I played many times before they were famous, god awful band though.
Shouts for next year;
Fun Loving Criminals.
Primal Scream.
Portishead.
Fergal Sharkey.
Cap Sensible.
Faithless.
Obviously no idea of their availability though :emoji_relaxed:
Didn't realise they played there last year, living away from the area you see, were they any good,Errmm, Fun Lovin Criminals played here last year. Don't think they will be back quite so quickly!
How about Ray Davies? Or is he still too big?
Think Space did last year as well Bri.Didn't realise they played there last year, living away from the area you see, were they any good,
I Went to see them in Norwich a few years ago and they were brilliant.
M People Space or the Cure would be about the right size as well, I would have thought.
I'll get me coat.......urmm actually was it raining last year.Think Space did last year as well Bri.
As Ken Bruce would say "One year Oot".
It rains every year doesn't it, or are you talking specifically about the Godiva Festival?I'll get me coat.......urmm actually was it raining last year.
Madness would go down a storm. Anyone like that with a shed load of hits.Might be able to get Madness or T'Pau they're both still doing occasional gigs.

Have The Specials ever played thisMadness would go down a storm. Anyone like that with a shed load of hits.
Would love to see the Dandy Warhols. Does the female keyboard player still do the concerts topless?
Specials would be great. No doubt in the next year or two it will be the Enemy headlining to kick off a reunion.Have The Specials ever played this
Festival. And If not 'why not.
Or, as there is no charge for this festival, Free! They wouldn't cost much.Elvis Costello would be another good shout, or EMF as they are unbelievable
The Specials were asked the year they reformed; they wanted 3 times the total budget of the festival to play.Have The Specials ever played this

Would love to see the Fratellis they are superb live. If they charged in line with the Portsmouth festival you wouldn't see half of the families going which would be a shame. Equally then you start looking at enhanced security to stop people getting in etc.
I would have no objection to a tenner for the weekend or something however but people complain about the cost now when it's friggin free so you will never win
Totally read the dafties on ET! It's too busy, the beer is too expensive, people get stabbed.....Ha how do people complain that it's free?
Tenner for the weekend is nothing really.

one woman said she goes to loads of festivals and the Godiva is the worse she's seen for drugs - absolute bollocks!!
But that could be because she likes to indulge, and they're much easier to come byeone woman said she goes to loads of festivals and the Godiva is the worse she's seen for drugs - absolute bollocks!!
The queues to buy were quite big to be fair.....
