Which defenders may I ask.Haha. On what evidence? I saw him dominated by 5 or 6 different championship defenders last season, you think he'll find it easier in the toughest league in the world?
For the record, I wish Vik nothing but good times; after his underwhelming loan spell he returned and gave us some great memories, and he's now outgrown us. He's untested at PL level, so no-one knows how he'd get on, but you have to imagine he'd find it a lot tougher than what he's faced so far. Sporting seems like the safer option for him, and I don't blame him for wanting to take it. As I said, that's what I'd do in his shoes. In fact, if you're reading this Vik, and you need a gardener over there, I'm your man. For a modest slice of your daily crust.Always funny when people start to get bitter over a player leaving us and try to make out they’re not as good as they actually are.
Somehow while simultaneously moaning we aren’t getting enough money for the player who apparently wasn’t that good anyway.
That's more bollocks than the previous bollocks!West Ham must urgently offer recent signing in exchange for Gyokeres to save deal
Deal makes complete sense for all parties but Hammers must act fast...www.hammers.news
I'm not wading through the previous bollax so apologies if posted.
Why is he moving to a small European league rather than moving to the PL then? You think it's for the weather don't you?Which defenders may I ask.
But how many times has he also single handedly dominated a whole defence ? Playing as a lone striker, often as an effectively one man attack there will be days where you don't have quite the impact.
In the prem, it's also likely that the teams tactics wouldn't solely revolve around getting the ball up to Gyokeres, and playing in that manner would take a bit of attention off him.
Was he swallowed up at Southampton last season ?
Also, if you think he'd get swallowed up in the prem then how come Moyes, Dyche and Marco Silva don't think that ?
Have you considered how easier it would be to have more team mates of the calibre of Hamer to help him?Why is he moving to a small European league rather than moving to the PL then? You think it's for the weather don't you?
Also, Southampton we're the worst team in the League last year and we played them in a cup match, not a very fair barometer.
No doubting he has talent, but he suits being a big fish in a small pond, hence his choice to move to the Portuguese League.
Of course, but I also realise that he would be up against much higher calibre defenders, midfielders, managers and tactics.Have you considered how easier it would be to have more team mates of the calibre of Hamer to help him?
Done some research and I’m now happy to take you up on the bet. Shall we say £250?Ok, put your money where your mouth is.
Charity bet: Gyökeres goes for at least 20 million pounds before the end of this current transfer window.
But not having to get past several players frequently by himself.Of course, but I also realise that he would be up against much higher calibre defenders, midfielders, managers and tactics.
That’s taking charity bets to the next level.Done some research and I’m now happy to take you up on the bet. Shall we say £250?
- To be clear, I am betting that Viktor Gyokeres is not sold from Coventry City for a fee of £20 million GBP or more before the end of the current transfer window. If this transpires, you will pay £250 GBP to a charity of my choice. If Gyokeres is sold for a fee of £20 million GBP or more before the end of the current transfer window, I will pay £250 GBP to a charity of your choice.
- For the purposes of the bet, the £20m fee can include up-front and future/incentive-based payments, but does not include sell-on clauses
- The transfer fee must either be confirmed by one of the two clubs involved in the deal, or by at least two reputable news outlets. If the fee cannot be confirmed, or if the two clubs and/or multiple news outlets disagree on whether the fee exceeds £20 million, the bet is void. If you and I cannot agree on whether a news outlet can be considered to be “reputable” then the bet is void
- If the transfer fee is announced in a different currency from GBP, the exchange rate will be decided by the exchange rate on the date that the clubs confirm the transfer has been completed. If the two clubs announce the transfer on different dates, then the earlier of the dates will apply
- The beneficiary charities do not need to be confirmed until after the bet is settled. Only one charity can be named as the beneficiary
- Any payments to charities should be verified to the other user by a screenshot of the payment being made on the relevant charity’s website AND a screenshot of the money having left the user’s bank account. Each user reserves the right to omit any sensitive or personal information from these screenshots, but must provide sufficient verification to satisfy the other user that the payment has been made
- Payments can be made in multiple instalments if required, but all payments to charities must be completed by 23:59 GMT on September 30, 2023
- The terms of this bet expire at 23:59 GMT on Friday June 30, 2023
Do you think a PL side would build their side around him. He had so much of the ball and was such a danger because he was literally our only outlet. He'd be shoved out-wide for a PL side, feeding off scraps and be hoping to get one or two half chances a game....we all know how that ratio works. But not having to get past several players frequently by himself.
VAR would also help him. He would get his top ripped off his back much less. Prem defenders may be better but they get away with much less.
I’m dealing with a true alpha here, I can’t take any chancesThat’s taking charity bets to the next level.
Kipre at CardiffMcNair had his number. Diaby of PNE was all over him
I sense a void incoming, with great recriminations, and maybe GIMOC saying how one of you has been treated disrespectfully.I’m dealing with a true alpha here, I can’t take any chances
Will be a void bet we will sell Vik for an undisclosed fee .That’s taking charity bets to the next level.
Nah, it'll be an argument over whether the Daily Star or Morning Star are reputable sources. Will be a void bet we will sell Vik for an undisclosed fee .
At least he hasn't wasted his moneyNo way that coward will take the bet. He probs can’t afford it after all the prostitutes and McDonald’s anyway
Haven't seen it on here - but a mate has posted Vik's Instagram with reference to Sporting Lisbon on the back of his shirt
Edit: I see it is a fashion brand - so may be misinterpreted?!
Of course they wouldn't build a side around him. But they would build a side much better than he is used to.Do you think a PL side would build their side around him. How long do you think a manager in the PL would continue playing him if he missed as many chances as the stats suggest?Of course they wouldn't build a side around him. But they would build a side much better than he is used to.
And you're right. He wouldn't be their only outlet so wouldn't have so many players watching his every move as they would also have to watch what the other talented players are doing. So at times he would get more space. And also wouldn't sit back like we did most games.
Or a government spokesperson said.Nah, it'll be an argument over whether the Daily Star or Morning Star are reputable sources.

Do you think he is only worth 2m?How long do you think a manager in the PL would continue playing him if he missed as many chances as the stats suggest?
No, stop putting words into my mouth. He is worth what we get for him. I don't understand your persistence. If he thought he was good enough to play in the best league in the world, he would do just that. Instead he is moving to Portugal.Do you think he is only worth 2m?
The same has been said about players like Toney. Some are good enough and others are not. He has the attributes needed in the Prem. Nobody knows how he will do. But he has a decent chance of being at least average. That's the gamble. Yes he would be up against better defenders but they wouldn't be able to get away with fouling him several times a game. They would have to stop him fairly.
Yes he misses a lot of chances but a lot of them are chances he has made himself after running a long way. At the same time he has scored some great goals.
McNair had his number apart from when he went clear through in the run up to the goal that won the tieMcNair had his number. Diaby of PNE was all over him

VAR would be little help. It would only apply if the offence happened in the penalty area. Also the defenders who shut him out weren't the ones who fouled him. They were the ones who were stronger than him. Only the weaker ones resorted to these sorts of fouls. But not having to get past several players frequently by himself.
VAR would also help him. He would get his top ripped off his back much less. Prem defenders may be better but they get away with much less.
Try again. No, stop putting words into my mouth. He is worth what we get for him. I don't understand your persistence. If he thought he was good enough to play in the best league in the world, he would do just that. Instead he is moving to Portugal.
So if you agree with me, why are you arguing? Big fish - small pond.Try again.
You have constantly pointed out every negative you can think of to cover every slight positive. Yes it will be easier for him in Portugal than in the Prem. He won't get a top side in the Prem.
And Portugal or a side that could be in the Championship in 12 months. An easy choice for most especially as he isn't English.
he actually creates his own chances as opposed to many of the others
