His goal Wigan for me shows just how good he is. When he put his head down and belted down the pitch it was terrifying. An absolute beast. It’s unlikely we’ll hold on to him but fingers crossed we can last until the summer.

As McF said, he can run like that at any time in the game. If he improves his aerial ability and decision making he'll be a real threat in the top flight wherever he goes.

Little known player fact:

Gyok’s first club IF Brommapojkarna has a hall of fame.

The legend that is Thomas Gustaffson (Antonoleous or something he changed it to) has made his way on to it.

Genuinely think it would be best for him to stay until the end of the season and like Mitrovic go into the Prem full of confidence after a full season of bossing the Championship.

I'm curious as to how the World Cup is going to affect interest in him in the January window. On the one hand, you'd expect World Cup performers to attract more buzz and potentially take some of the shine off him. On the other hand, he'll be well rested going into the Christmas games and will have plenty in the tank for whoever's bidding.

Robins mentioned he was joining up with Sweden for friendlies. Not sure how many.

Does King being here and us being debt free mean any sales go into the kitty and not the handbag now?

Does that mean we don’t need to let people go cheap if they pay up front?

At least 20m looking at that list although another Cov player is worth double at least now.
Let’s not under sell our commodities, hopefully now with Mr King in charge we won’t!!

Hopefully. I'd actually let someone off if they werent replaced in that January window mind you, as long as they were in the summer.

Not easy to get value in January,

Yeah agreed. Though as Godden is out I’d like to at least see a loan in. Not that they’re any easier to find mind.

Watkins was one year into a five-year contract when he signed for Villa. Gyokeres can start negotiating a free transfer with teams in Europe in 13 months from now.

Taking him at complete face value and assuming he's telling the truth, it should raise whatever fees were being speculated before if the pressure to sell has been removed. Then really it comes down to if the player will throw his toys out of the pram if he's being denied a move he wants.

I’ve come across an argument where a Sheffield United fan seems to think McBurnie is better than Gyokeres and a better complete striker than any other in Britain outside of the PL. No Sky Blue tinted specs what is everyone elses thoughts, because with and without mine I have the same opinion

I must disagree. Big Alfredo Morelos is the best striker I’ve ever seen-of opponents mind you, but still.

Who was the poster who used to say godden was better?
Guilty as charged.

Last season, I was of the mind that Godden was the better finisher, and therefore should start when fit.

Glad to have been proved wrong.

McBurnie is very good, the narrative around him not being good enough the last few seasons was always misguided. Completely different skillset to Gyok but the difference is McBurnie needs a team playing a certain way to get the best out of him more than Gyok does. No other striker at this level can do what Gyok does.

Any in the Eredivisie or our previous scouting grounds?
