Massive profit if 18.5 but still not as much as he’s worth
What a player he’s been for the last 2 years absolutely carried the attacking threat for the team single handedly
If a big sell on percentage can see a really helpful boost in a couple of seasons
Hopefully now go ping ping ping and get the main work on the squad build complete before 13/7

It really is. Regardless of how much he carried the team over the past two seasons posters seriously need to get to grips with the fact that having one year left on an existing contract devalues a player considerably.

Interested parties know full well the club are over a barrel and will adjust their bids accordingly.

The club are only over a barrel if the player is prepared to wait another year before moving …. If he isn’t then both parties have cards in their hand … … all the mood music from Vik suggests he wants out this summer

He wants out which is why it's not an option that he doesn't move on this summer.

Interested parties also know full well the club have to sell or face hanging onto an unhappy player for another season which will lead to its own issues. Equally, the only other time to sell will be in January which will be for an incredibly nominal price comparative to current offers.

That's the club being over a barrel. It's the last chance for it to hold some semblance of power in the negotiation process before it essentially has zero. Which is why any notion that the club is going to receive bids of circa £20m + is utter nonsense.

I wonder if he would have stayed had we gone up to the prem.

Doubt it, club could not compete with other premier League clubs wages and playing in Europe.

He's been told by the international set up he needs to be playing op flight football so if we'd gone up then there's a chance he'd have stayed

Though I think they were talking about EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga or Serie A which is why I've been a little surprised by the sporting Lisbon link.

I think he’d do particularly well in Serie A personally.

Wolves just generated another £23m of sales selling Nathan Collins to Brentford, surely with their departures they are going to need a new striker to lead the line, he’d play there week in week out

I think they needed to though didn't they? Their finances are a mess from what I recall.

If his main goal was to be the main striker in a top flight team, then I imagine he would have signed a new contract with us with some pretty favourable (to him) release clauses.

Recent news saying that Sporting offered 21.5M € for Gyokeres ARE FALSE.

On Sunday, the English press reported that the clubs had reached an agreement. Nothing more false. Not only is there no agreement, but Sporting is unlikely to reach these values.

That is just a fan site isn't it? It's like the Sporting version of Skyblue Extra. Wouldn't take it as gospel

Sporting Lisbon can’t afford Gyokeres, I am shocked. A 35% sell-on value did see

I don’t know why people are panicking, there’s genuine interest in our player and someone will make a better offer than Sporting.

Is the charity bet still on? Asking for a friend…

If the paper talk cited in that CT article is accurate, then the Premier League bidding war for Vik’s services hasn’t done much to bump up his value.
