I've got no beef with them. It appears that people are taking out their frustrations of Ccfc/Sisu and laying them firmly at the door of Wasps for some reason.
A team with no geographical links to the city are hoovering up the sporting infrastructure with the backing of the council, meanwhile a section of their fans hold them up as a fine example of how it should be done in terms of running a club (franchise) on match days etc. Even though this is a hedge fund owned club spending money it can't afford, in a city it shouldn't be in. Which already had a rugby team. It should wind people up. I also want sisu to piss off, but I see why people have beef with the franchise.

Nothing wrong with this, just one person giving stick and getting it back.

Never get why people get annoyed when the give the likes of say bothroyd stick and get offended when they get it back

He's a professional sportsmen who's response will be seen by children, he's just called someone a bellend?

It's just banter, I don't subscribe to this role model stuff. I liked Marlon King, i don't go round hitting women.

It's just words at the end of the day, people just try and get offended by anything these days

Or rise above it and conduct themselves in a professional manner and not call someone a bell end.

I'm all for throwing a bit of shit Wasps way.

However, you can't give it like that and not expect a little bit back. It's the same with footballers when fans shout abuse and cry when something comes back.

If the issue is kids seeing the icons making up "bellend" on twitter then I suspect they will have seen a lot worse on there.

Amazing how many people on here are interested in rugby now. Had the same people shown the same interest before then Wasps wouldn't have even looked at moving here

You don't have to be interested in Rugby to dislike Wasps.
Personally I am interested in Rugby, and dislike them.

People have different reasons, but as its a Wasps section of the forum its no great surprise that they are discussed here.

There are over 100 pages on Portsmouth in another thread, it doesn't mean everyone supports them though.

Agreed but the difference for me is if it was a CCFC player doing the same to a Wasps fan there would be outrage and it would be all over local media.

Well yeah, will be interesting to see where this ranks on the "Reid's new car" scale...

Looks like he has deleted it now...

Italia probably emailed him straight away, not too dissimilar to the below ;)

Dear Mr Hero,
The nasty people on Sky Blues talk are being horrible about the naughty words you wrote. I don't mind, as you are all my heroes. Despite winning nothing you are all still winners to me. Love you all, Italia

Dear Johnsy
Can you do me a favour and wind up the posters on SkyBlueTalk?
It's so easy. Just mention Wasps positively in a post and walk away.
Two days later return and review the frenzy. Should be worth at least a 100 pages.
You will be happy in the knowledge that some of them, particularly the administrator, will have not slept for at least 48 hours.
See you in training.

The press and general public do not see them as a Coventry team. Up north, people don't even realise they play in Coventry.

Up north they don't know where anyone plays they are Rugby league fans.

Cant believe you got them to lose the final as well so we had a reason to talk about Wasps. ;)

They might do soon. Would anyone be surprised if the unnamed people trying to take over Widnes and move them across the country turn out to be Wasps?

They wouldn't do that would they as it may damage the team that are already here in this city of rugby:emoji_poop:

The truth is no one in Coventry seemed to care one way or the other judging by the pubs I've been in tonight. No wasps shirts, discussions or anything.
Just like you didn't care about the Micky Mouse cup.
Funny how things change.

And BTW I didn't care about the Wasps ether never took any notice.

Didn't realise Sale or Newcastle or Yorkshire Carnegie (Leeds) amongst others had moved south.
How many are there though that is the point.
I dare say many people wouldn't know where sale play let alone heard of YC.

Just to emphasise the differences. A quote from Renegade Wasps Facebook.

WHY I LOVE RUGBY: So, currently on the train home from Marylebone. Still gutted. But for the whole game, despite being surrounded by Chiefs supporters, had an absolute blast. The banter between supporters was hilarious. The commiserations from Chiefs' fans were quick to be offered at full time. Not once did the atmosphere feel anything less than friendly. BUT just left Wembley station - lots of Chelsea and Arsenal supporters have got on the train. Immediately the atmosphere has changed. Aggression. Anger. Abuse. All three directed from football fans - towards rugby fans heading home; towards children minding their own business; towards anyone!! I'm ashamed just watching them. They can keep their round ball - it's oval all the way for me. #COYW

just to emphasise what difference? One man bumped into some mouthy hooligans on a train.
I can remember been on Warrington station a few years ago when all hell broke loose between 2 sets of league supporters, (think it may have been Widnes and St.Helens), after a semi final, what does it prove?

I was actually talking about both sets of people. The ones that don't go but know everything that rugby followers know and think and the ones that now go and walk around in Wasps shirts old and young, may I just say these people I laugh at loud at I would do the same to the first lot but I don't know who they are

Yep I think your second sentence is very true.
I do agree with you about the North, but there are some Union hotbeds up there.
I much prefer Union to League, as I much prefer Football to Rugby, but do enjoy Rugby and am now looking forward to the Lions Tour.

I have to admit myself that on hearing they had lost did help Saturday nights beer go down better ! I know other members of the Coventry public felt the same as well. I didn't even know they had a game such if the lack of interest in Coventry.

somebody posted about wasps attendances being high earlier and that's due to free tickets handed out in the masses. The paying gate isn't as high as you think.

I remember a wasps employee trying to hand out a wad of wasps tickets around the memorial park one Sunday morning this past season and after being declined by every one he approached he declared "I can't give these fuckers away." and trotted off. Said it all that's no real appetite for wasps and the ones that sadly go only to watch top level rugby and not to support wasps.

I know a few of their followers and many seem to be people who have come to this fine city for work and had football teams already and didn't have a rugby team so have been dragged along people from the north east and Sheffield area mainly.
