You literally said you didnt rate him for the money, that is an opinion no? He has played and scored at a world cup. Played at a decent level in Turkey and scored 1 in 2. No one is claiming he is the finished article but clearly there is ability there. Other bigger clubs have offered similar amounts for him are they wrong as well? Why would I have an opinion?
Calm down, it’s not your money. Just seems a lot of cash for someone we aren’t talking about like the finished article.
At a wild guess, TuncayWho is the last striker from the Turkish SuperLig who had a good goalscoring record in the top two English divisions?
You're right. All of them total flukes, you best ring Robins and warn him because I reckon he's only done his scouting off these videos.Just watched his "highlights" video. 90% of them are him miscontrolling, diving, missing the target or taking the wrong option. Even his goals are mostly deflected and wouldn't go in against Championship GK's. Most insane signing in our history.
Prove me wrong Haji, prove me wrong!
And also rangers scouts , and villareals scouts and Crystal Palace scoutsYou're right. All of them total flukes, you best ring Robins and warn him because I reckon he's only done his scouting off these videos.

Billy SharpImagine being this negative about a potential record signing?
Honestly, if Robins asked your opinion on who you’d sign - who would you recommend?
Well earlier today someone was upset we hadn't gone in for a £1 million loan of Tom Cannon insteadImagine being this negative about a potential record signing?

Well with Gyokeres we got to try before we buy, while Hamer was one of a few similarly sized gambles that season, along with Walker and Sheaf. We weren’t counting on them all to work out, and they didn’t. Our transfer portfolio was diversified, we moved on.For the amounts spent in relation to the money we had available I'd say they're comparable. Hamer was our biggest fee since Freddie Eastwood, Gyokeres was a similar amount and paying instalments of the latter was significant enough to disrupt our cashflow just last season. So at the time they also represented considerable gambles on the club's part.
We aren't spending money we don't have.
I'd say our transfer portfolio this summer has been even more diversified. We have signed several players who can go on to be worth £10m+.Well with Gyokeres we got to try before we buy, while Hamer was one of a few similarly sized gambles that season, along with Walker and Sheaf. Yes, we apparently have £7 million to spend on transfers right now, but this is certainly one of the riskier ways to spend it.
I do worry if the Eastwood comparison will end up being the most appropriate one here.
Lets hope not, eh?!!!!!!!You're right. All of them total flukes, you best ring Robins and warn him because I reckon he's only done his scouting off these videos.
Didn't sign him though. And also rangers scouts , and villareals scouts and Crystal Palace scouts
All flagged him as a potential signing
Rangers had a 7 mill bid turned downDidn't sign him though.
Someone who looks worth it!Imagine being this negative about a potential record signing?

Brilliant. Do you need a job as a scout part time?Someone who looks worth it!
Wow , what a vague answer .Someone who looks worth it!
Sorry, I hadn't watched his videos and now I have, along with everything else about him, I just think it's an insane fee to pay. BUT I want him to be a massive success, of course, I really do.Brilliant. Do you need a job as a scout part time?
The point remains that in relation to our budgets, they were big money signings and with the exception of Walker, they've worked out. More to the point King himself has already earned a reputation as a bit of a bean counter-I can't imagine such a fee (if correct) being sanctioned without strong justification.Well with Gyokeres we got to try before we buy, while Hamer was one of a few similarly sized gambles that season, along with Walker and Sheaf. Two of those clubs are a level above us and the other either couldn't afford the fee or couldn't attract the player.Didn't sign him though.
Don't make me bring back Michael Owen mateSomeone who looks worth it!
Up front? I doubt it... you are all drama queen's!Villareal reportedly bid 8.5 million
So a YouTube clip has informed your opinion? Say no more.Someone who looks worth it!
Football fans tend to be idiots. If I was in charge of recruitment, I’d be shit too. There’s a reason clubs employ data analysts and full time scouts rather than ask the opinions of the proles who watch highlights and YouTube.Well earlier today someone was upset we hadn't gone in for a £1 million loan of Tom Cannon instead

A proper weird modern crazeSpending money on a loan fee is mad to develop someone elses player
In this particular case it's to give Sean Dyche a few quid to spend because they've got nowtSpending money on a loan fee is mad to develop someone elses player
No, the youtube clips, his record before the last few seasons, plus the standard of the bottom half of the Turkish top flight. So a YouTube clip has informed your opinion? Say no more.
Fair enough, there must be something special there.Villareal reportedly bid 8.5 million

His overall record is pretty good tbhNo, the youtube clips, his record before the last few seasons, plus the standard of the bottom half of the Turkish top flight.
So we must have a pretty good reason to be doing it.You’ve said I went looking for things matching my opinion. How when I didn’t have an opinion until I went looking
And yes I think they are wrong to offer to pay that for a player with his record TBH. I don’t rate Turkey as a decent level and IIRC Chris Birchall played at a WC, doesn’t mean I’d spend £9m on him!
It’s a hell of a jump in our transfer strategy and quite surprising to me we’ve done it. For the money I’d rather three young players.
