He can piss off then. Spent all summer telling any Cov fan he bumps into how much he loves it here and he’s keen to stay only to go back on it when push comes to shove. Thanks for everything Gus and good luck at Burnley or Fulham or wherever he ends up. At least Vik was honest from the start.
I think he won’t end up in England

Tbf if he's not signing he needs flogging ASAP. We'd miss him loads but we can do damage with the fee and probably have a good replacement lined up already

Where do you spend the money? More depth or add more quality? Surely the latter so why want your business done before he makes a decision?

Unless you think your transfer business would change that decision of course.

We will need to spend a good chunk of it on his immediate replacement

Buy a box to box midfielder for several million and keep the rest behind for January

Spend as much on trying to get a like for like replacement.

£3.5m or so I’d say, and the same again on a striker personally. I’d also want Fadz’s replacement in as well and we’ll need to spend there.
I just want him gone now if he's not going to sign. Absolutely no point in dragging it, it just fucks us about. Little bit annoyed we're still at this point with a week to go.

Agreed. It is starting to become frustrating that this issue is overhanging everything

If he goes to a Burnley or Fulham and we continue to develop he may regret it longer term. From his perspective it's potentially a gamble staying another year though.

All about money ain’t it - we’ve offered him something, someone else has clearly said “we’ll give you x amount”, which trumps us, and he’ll think well that’s what I’m worth.
Never underestimate the power of agents - but he’s got a life and career to think about - if any of us were offered double or more the money you’re on, even if you absolutely love where you are and the people you’re with, you go - it’s the personal circumstances that come first ultimately….
Robins has said everything there that we’re all thinking.

If his mind is OK and Doug is happy to eat the cost I’d keep him TBH. I don’t think you’ll find close for the money. And the difference he’ll make beyond the Vik cash isn’t huge. But those are big ifs.

Reads as the opposite, it's not about a few grand extra a week. Either wants the step up or a move back home

I would imagine and hope the club have a list of potential replacements lined up. I just fear the fact this has gone on so long, those players have gone to other clubs.
Yeh this is the thing, it seems a bit daft. If he won't sign you need to force him out really. Club before everything

If he stays then we can make a go of it this season. If he leaves then it’s too late to reinvest that kind of money and re-rebuild the squad in time for this season. But another big cash injection (£10 million?) could be huge for us - enough for three or four difference makers in the squad for sure.

A Dutch club isn’t going to fork out £15m for him. That’s his value to the club. If he wants to go back to Holland then he will have to see his last year out then go on a free.

If his motivation isn’t that and wants to move to another English club then he needs to move now and be fair and honest as he can be. Hamers been excellent for city but it’s also can be said this club has also looked after hamer as well.

If he wants to go back to Holland he will be here one more season then go on a free in my opinion.

If it’s the wages and another club fine, but let the club gain from it as well with a fee for him to reinvest.
