I've been told before that it is about the money. To be fair, that waa earlier in his Cov career so things might have changed.Don't think it's about money with Gus, missing his kids and wants to go back to Holland to be closer.
Trouble is, no team in Holland will pay the asking price.
I call bullshit. This forum knows everything.I think you, Me, and the rest of the forum know absolutely nothing, which means ranting like an entitled maniac about what's "acceptable" is a waste of time.
Dawkins should keep his beak out.Dawkins has backtracked in his last tweet

Can you?Like I say it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but equally I can see the sense in a gamble on keeping such an influential player for a season and rolling the dice on £180m.
If you've got her address, I will send her a box of chocolates and a bunch of flowers. Is there no chance of reconciliation between him and his ex and he can get her back over here?
Not sure we would pay the 7 odd million they are looking for tbhLet’s sell him then, and use the money and wages on 1/2 top midfielders…..grimes is the player we should go all out for
I think that's why Robins has said 3 more for now, sell Gus and look again at what's neededSurely that would be realistic though? If Hamer was to go for say 12-15 million, if not would you rather go all out on 1 player to replace him or get 2 in?
Because in the interim he could earn say £20k a week instead of whatever he is currently onif he wants to go to one club he’d go anyway so why sign a deal?
Yup. It's that simple. If we force him to play out his contract, you can't expect the same level of motivation from him.If he doesn’t want to be here we need to get rid.
But if he held on he could earn even more and get a massive signing on feeBecause in the interim he could earn say £20k a week instead of whatever he is currently on
Robbie Keane didn’t demand to leave.

If he wants to go, we have to let him.
Just try and get the best fee we can.
If he goes, I preferred the Gyokeres method of departure
Also the being straight about what's going on, getting it done, allowing everyone to move on with the memories.for £20 million? I agree
I agree, better to be ruthlessly told a player wants out like Vik rather than this non committal Hamer rubbish. It's souring him a bit as it's really not ideal with a week to go.Also the being straight about what's going on, getting it done, allowing everyone to move on with the memories.
(And sign replacements with the cash!)

That’s exactly right. A club like ours cannot afford to miss out on £15 million by letting him leave for free, as well as losing a motivated player.
Robbie Keane demanded to leave. Other players have demanded to leave. It’s disappointing that Hamer wants to go but City need to maximise the income.
I may have missed it, but who is offering £15 million? I thought we'd only received a £3 million bid so far?
Clubs know the situation we're in and won't be offering that sort of money. Like I say, could have missed it. If he continues to refuse to sign, we may be forced to accept far less than that.
For me, you make a silly offer to Gus to get him to sign a one year extension. If it costs us an extra £1 million in wages so what. If he is still unsettled in Jan, sell him then for a proper fee. The difference in the fee we might receive would eclipse the cost of his uplift in wages.
Agree, offer Gus a pay uplift and a 1 year extension on his existing contract. Let’s see where we are Xmas - February. This gives us time to get in place a replacement then sell .I may have missed it, but who is offering £15 million? I thought we'd only received a £3 million bid so far?

He can negotiate any deal he likes in 6 months. he isnt going to sign a 1 year extensionAgree, offer Gus a pay uplift and a 1 year extension on his existing contract. Let’s see where we are Xmas - February. This gives us time to get in place a replacement then sell .

Personally I think if don't get a bid over 7m I'd rather keep him for a year and see if he can help us get promoted before he leaves for free
Or he could get an acl and would look very differentWhereas he could leave for nothing in the summer and command a far higher wage and terms as he’s a free agent
He could get that anyway. Doesnt mean he will sign a contract thoughOr he could get an acl and would look very different
