I'm saying they are very different things. He has signed a contract and at the end of that contract he can leave and go wherever he wants. At the end of a modern slaves useful existence if they are unlucky they may get a bullet as they could talk about their experiences. Are they comparable? So you would keep him against his will? At least now we know - and you really need to see a wider narrative here
Yeah let's have a laugh about modern slavery...
Modern slavery doesn't tend to involve legitimate, binding, closely scrutinised contracts, signed under zero duress. You are funny, though. Keep saying funny things, pls!So you would keep him against his will?
He wouldn’t what?He wouldn’t
Ahh no that does sound a bit like slavery tbfTo be honest I’m at the point now of what will be will be. If we are desperate for some cash I’m sure he will be flogged before the deadline if the club get the offer they want.
if they don’t and he stays and runs his contract down yes it will frustrating to have lost out on a fee for him but we will get another year out of him. I don’t think he’s the type of player to down tools if he doesn’t get what he wants. It also gives us another year to scout a decent replacement and also potential for him to change his mind.
I didn't have you down as a stupid person but it appears I was wrong.
Bergkamp was like that, must be a Dutch thingApparently Gus doesn't like flying. I heard that's why he didn't go to Portugal. 2 day trip in a taxi might not appeal to him.

The big difference being that I as a teacher was hired on a permanent contract whereas a footballer's is fixed term. You had the option to leave as a teacher when you were unhappy
It’s incredibly cruel to force someone to stay as they can’t escape the chains of their contract
All modern liberal people on here would want kindness for an individual above selfish gains surely?
he’s really stupid to be fair

I heard he'd looked into the Eurostar to Amsterdam but didn't like the sandwich offerings in first class. More of a croque monsieur kind of guy.Apparently Gus doesn't like flying. I heard that's why he didn't go to Portugal. 2 day trip in a taxi might not appeal to him.
Comes from a great history on water. Buy him a private fluyt and it might all be fine.Bergkamp was like that, must be a Dutch thing
You’re not preserving mine, that’s for fucking sure.I thought this was a discussion on morality and preserving someone’s mental well being
I mean if you can find me one example of a footballer hired on a permanent contract then sureNo exceptions?

Good, because you finally realise your argument is so flawed that you can't keep digging. Take it as a self improvement opportunity!Incredible - I give up
Egg in or on a sandwich is always disgustingCroque Madame >>>> Croque Monsieur
You don't believe most of what you say, which is probably the nauseating bit. Like GB News or Fox News cretins; saying things for clicks or a pay cheque. CBA now. Enjoy your argument.I thought this was a discussion on morality and preserving someone’s mental well being
The flying Dutch man. Oh the irony!Bergkamp was like that, must be a Dutch thing
Just Grendel being a bell end which at this point is standard.Have I missed something
Surely Grendel’s last dozen or so posts have just been sarky extreme statements of the liberal point of view he attributes to everyone else on here? Am I misinterpreting?
Same old same old , I don’t know where he gets the energy fromJust Grendel being a bell end which at this pointnis standard.
Honestly you'd think he'd need a spa day from time to time but no steadfast as always!Same old same old , I don’t know where he gets the energy from
