He’s a fat wanker, will get found out in the prem, wonder what odds I could get on him to commit the most fouls in the league
You lost me at Chris MarsdenAs I previously said with Vik, Gus has proven that ultimately he, like every other footballer, is a mercenary who goes to the highest payer. No way Sheffield is a place where he will improve or see any ambition played out. He has gone for the paypacket and exposure. It's happened before, it will happen again to fan favourites. No need for tears, they sign a contract with a club for a period of time, not for life.
It's goodbye to an ex-player, albeit a good one, but hello to the next messiah.
And before anyone lambasts my comments as harsh, we had the same with Bobby Gould (first time around), Big Cyrille, Dave Bennett, Robbie Keane, Chris Marsden and so many more. Each one played well for the club, helped us move that bit further on and in turn, we helped them improve and get a better deal.
Just remember one thing.
Players are ephemeral, they come and go.
Our club still exists and will continue to while we still support them
He was so desperate to stay in the area as well, the club has really let him down. Not old Gusser, he loves us
He was a great player for us.You lost me at Chris Marsden

I wouldn’t have mentioned him in the same bracket as the others though , maybe Boateng, Macallister , MortimerHe was a great player for us.
Marsden home to Swindon that evening oh myDon't diss the Marsden. He was a cracking midfielder, only a loanee, but he was adored by the fans. Most wanted him signed permanently.
Oh, or did you mean you well up at the reading of his name ? Happens. His grace on the ball was enough to send most men weak at the knees.

Don't forget the modern slavery stuff and the club forcing him to stay in the country against his will where he was unable to ever see his kidSo the timeline was:
Offered new deal some time in May
Player/agent stalled for a few months but knew they weren’t going to sign
Told the club they didn’t want to sign but couldn’t go anywhere because no PL club was offering
Burnley sign Sander Berge last week
Sheff Utd go ‘shit let’s sign someone quick’
Sheff Utd tap up the player early this week
Player is up there drinking gravy on Friday
Yeah he’s messed us around big time.
The PSB group on twitter is peddling that crap too.No youre missing the key point that the club wasn't willing to budge on 2k a week or 100k a year to give him what he wants.
You've missed the blame on the club in your timeline Brighton, poor from you.
They talk absolute nonsense tooThe PSB group on twitter is peddling that crap too.

Nobody has an issue with a player like that wanting to move-but the way he has gone about getting it leaves a very sour taste and also leaves us trying to replace him in the middle of August.Don't forget the modern slavery stuff and the club forcing him to stay in the country against his will where he was unable to ever see his kid
He's made a few ITKs look very stupid but the problem is some of those same ITKs appear desperate for King to fail and despite being small in number for some reason there's a small but vocal section of our fanbase who hang off their every word
Think we all knew walking away from Wembley that was our chance with that side and a huge rebuild was on the way. Problem now is that over the summer people have got it into their heads Hamer was willing to stay and with that expectations have grown and people have started talking about getting to the play offs or even automatics. The worry for me now is that if we go a few games without a win the complaints will get louder. Its a time for realistic expectations.

Won’t see any of them at the game or even outside I assumeQuite a few of the big wigs on Cov twitter pedalling out that we wouldn't pay him what he wants. Some even tagging Will King in it.
Careful you’re morphing into @COVKIDSNEVERQUIT

Unless we were going to pay him a PL wage, which was never going to happen, then that's pretty much an irrelevance.Quite a few of the big wigs on Cov twitter pedalling out that we wouldn't pay him what he wants. Some even tagging Will King in it.
Nothing makes me cringe more than the “Look after him” and “we’ll look after him” exchanges all over Twitter when a player leaves
It’s people who can’t cope with the reality of how he’s played the clubUnless we were going to pay him a PL wage, which was never going to happen, then that's pretty much an irrelevance.
Fucking inbredThe PSB group on twitter is peddling that crap too.

Sounds a bit homo erotic.I dunno man this all seems a little mean spirited. Last night I found myself playing FIFA against a Sheff Utd fan and we had a little chat about Gus. I said he’s great and you’ll love him, he said hope so he’s heard great things and good luck for the season. Is that really so much different?
Don't worry boys, we'll buy him back when we swap divisions with them.
He might have to sit on the bench a lot though.
Sounds a bit homo erotic.
Youre meant to be getting inside their head early doors to put them off
I usually agree with you BSB. In this case I can’t blame a very decent young bloke in keeping his financial options open - I’m a massive and long term fan of this club but even if I had played for the sky blues I would have taken the right financial option for my family in his situation. We all would in that situation if we’re honest. I loved Gus as a player and a person - still love the guy and hope he does brilliantly in his career. So the timeline was:

Made me wince not gonna lie. The imperial system is so clunky and unintuitive.I just saw this in B&Q and cried. 3/8.
Even more poignant now we are half the club we were before we sold him..
