its a buzzard

What gets me is all summer they’ve pushed him on socials, using dirty marketing techniques on their own support to get us to buy more STs but in the knowledge that he doesn’t really want to stay.
More fool those who fell for it. Some of us said that both Vik and Gus would leave this summer - they'd both outgrown the club.

Phoned my dad , he just said fuck him we move on 🤣🤣 all our fans should feel the same imo

Exactly. These clowns who said give him what he wants - let him leave when his contracts up - he’s missing his baby waby boy.

The club is 140 years old - 137 with no greedy Gus

If thats true about Gus changing his reasoning to want to move and Robins telling him off you pop, it goes to show how much Robins hates having people who can rock the boat at the club.
Robins sounded like he'd had enough yesterday when asked

Does anyone else feel major relief that it's sorted now? I do.

It's amazing the money we've received on just 2 players. We need to go out and find more bargains! Let's not get too silly and break our transfer record again though.

I'd happily settle for a loanee until we can find someone that fits in our new team.
I’m disappointed the Pantomime went on so long. The city coverage on Facebook was wrong. Why bother putting a players face everywhere when you know he’s not likely to sign. It does little to instil confidence in the owners in future. Robins had an uphill battle. He should not have played on Wednesday. the end result was the same!

Even if Hamer had signed a contract for 25k per week, what’s Dawkins think would happen if a Prem club comes sniffing offering 45k per week ? The blokes a clown
Exactly , the prem club would have to pay about 3/4 mill more to cover the contract

Agreed, we might’ve pushed fee up a little bit but clubs weren’t falling over themselves to pay 15m so can’t have seen us squeezing much more, even though we all think he’s worth 20m

I’ve said before I’m shocked more clubs didn’t come in for him at 15m but they obviously viewed him differently to us, maybe seeing some of the faults that might get exposed at prem level, who knows

So the timeline was:

Offered new deal some time in May
Player/agent stalled for a few months but knew they weren’t going to sign
Told the club they didn’t want to sign but couldn’t go anywhere because no PL club was offering
Burnley sign Sander Berge last week
Sheff Utd go ‘shit let’s sign someone quick’
Sheff Utd tap up the player early this week
Player is up there drinking gravy on Friday

Yeah he’s messed us around big time.

No youre missing the key point that the club wasn't willing to budge on 2k a week or 100k a year to give him what he wants.

You've missed the blame on the club in your timeline Brighton, poor from you.

According to the GIMOC timeline he signed a new deal 6 weeks ago so I‘m hopeful all this Sheff Utd business is just mental ju-jitsu to faze Boro.

As I previously said with Vik, Gus has proven that ultimately he, like every other footballer, is a mercenary who goes to the highest payer. No way Sheffield is a place where he will improve or see any ambition played out. He has gone for the paypacket and exposure. It's happened before, it will happen again to fan favourites. No need for tears, they sign a contract with a club for a period of time, not for life.

It's goodbye to an ex-player, albeit a good one, but hello to the next messiah.

And before anyone lambasts my comments as harsh, we had the same with Bobby Gould (first time around), Big Cyrille, Dave Bennett, Robbie Keane, Chris Marsden and so many more. Each one played well for the club, helped us move that bit further on and in turn, we helped them improve and get a better deal.

Just remember one thing.

Players are ephemeral, they come and go.

Our club still exists and will continue to while we still support them
