Try to take the emotion out of it for a moment and think with a logical, reasoned mind. Considering only the facts, try to answer the following questions:

1) Have we as a club made positive progress year on year since Mark Robins became manager?

2) Has Mark Robins or any other member of the management of the club said or done anything recently to make you doubt that they are in any way less committed or otherwise unable to continue the upward trajectory of the club?

3) Do you have any evidence that our budget or off-field business is in any way worse than the last 6 seasons?

4) Have we begin to recruit to replace players lost from last season?

5) Do we still have time to recruit more players?

6) Are other teams in the division in a similar position to us at this stage of pre-season?
oh mate I agree MR has took us forward massively no doubt and I do trust the gaffer

I don’t know maybe cos I’m late 20’s I’m not used to seeing really really good players leave

and yes we have began to replace players which I’m happy with and have praised DK for this, should probably judge at the end of the window.

No you take the money but posters on here are saying replace him with 2 players . It’s not that easy to get quality players like Hamer , if it was then the clubs looking at Hamer would be looking elsewhere
Exactly, that’s why I said we need 2 players

I agree with you pal

As much as I'd love to see Hamer renew and be the driving force behind a promotion push this coming season, regardless of how happy he is here if a premier league club come knocking with an offer which is too good to refuse he is likely to go.
Unfortunately the only people with 100% loyalty to a football club are us, the fans.

Been saying it for years. And maybe I’m a dickhead. But as a Cov fan, if I was a player I’d go to Villa for more money. Don’t give a fuck.

Come back towards the end of my career for another payday. Sign a few shirts and give out a few high fives.

All these ‘one club player legends who love the club’ as well. You reckon any of the Man United lot, Scholes and Giggs etc, would be one club heroes if they were at Stockport? It’s all bollocks.

By the way I agree I with you, the supposedly love for the club is properly nieve being a fan

if you get offered double your wage, then that is fair enough

must admit Gus is the best player I’ve probably seen, so the emotion regarding it comes out

Yeah no worries. I went about it the wrong way but essentially just relax and what will be will be. Be shit if he does leave though obviously.

Don’t worry about it none taken buddy in the slightest, I know I do it myself

will be shit, finding the next one is on the agenda, can’t see us signing a proven player, maybe try and unearth another gem

So if a premier club did want him and offers him £50k a week over 4 years we need to match that?
No , it’s been mentioned Fulham are after him for said £15M which suggests to me they’ve looked around and there’s no one out there with his quality they could afford. If there was with proven Premiership quality they would out priced . We all know Hamer has that quality and we should keep/give him what he wants £20-£22k a week .
If he wants to go then sell , no good keeping him ( like Vik )

No one knows he wants that to stay or indeed wants to stay at all

Well no, they'd be Jim Gannon (another versatile CM legend).

No, clearly not Gren, that would be crazy. It would then be up to him to take that offer - or be happy to accept what we could afford. We assume because it's a short career he would go for the big money, wouldn't blame him, but who knows his motivation. Perhaps he would prefer to be the well loved big fish in the smaller pond.

For all we know Hamer has already signed a new contract. Or at least they have agreed a new contract and will sign when they get back home. Maybe even will sign a new contract if a good enough offer for both Hamer and CCFC doesn't come in.

And why not? Gyokeres has gone yet nothing officially from our club has been released.

Alan Brazil hahaha big boy is Brazil
Remember a clip of him that they kept playing on Talk Sport where he was "running" on a golf course and kept trying to update stuff live, seriously out of breath! Got more entertainment out of that than I did from his City career.

I presume someone has said Nii Lamptey?

I doubt he’s signed a new deal if there’s so much noise around him, admittedly mostly poor paper talk but still

Would explain that perma-grin in pre-season, he looks like a Cheshire cat. That or he's "been to see someone" back in Holland...

Lots of clubs were supposedly linked with Gyokeres yet only one club made a bid we know of.

I’m just on about whether he’s signed a contract, to me it’s the agent trying to drum up interest, therefore I doubt a contract has been signed

but yes there could be no real concrete interest yet I agree

I would love hamer to stay and I hope he does as it would be a massive boost for us. However, there’s nothing to say we haven’t now offered him what he wants and he still doesn’t want to sign or is weighing his options up. No one knows what the situation is.

I didn’t dream this did I but I’m sure the telegraph ran an article a month or so ago of an interview he did in Holland that basically read as a come and get me plea to Feyenoord?
