Yes that’s it. Hamer wants to stay and play for us. It will be pretty gutting if Hamer moves just because we couldn’t agree a new contract with him. He’s one of the best in this league and should be compensated fairly for that.

There’s no evidence he actually wants to stay and what his agent is doing in the background

Agent wouldn’t be doing his or her job if they weren’t actively seeking to improve their clients status, so yes, agreed. But sometimes, you have to try to read between the lines. I am slightly more optimistic about Hamer staying than I was a couple of weeks ago

I think £7m is cheap for Hamer when Bristol City want £25m for Scott.

I agree however that Hamer stepped up another level when he was pushed further forward in the second half of the season.

Central midfield players who can be as impactful as Hamer in the final third normally command a premium.

I believe his contract length will impact his price far more than his early season cards.
You can’t really make a comparison of Scott’s value to Hamer’s. Scott is still a teenager and being linked to top clubs, Hamer turns 26 tomorrow

I find it strange that he’s still doing community work if he’s on the verge of leaving

Not having a dig but what’s the McNally situation now?
No offence taken. haven’t heard anything since last week. I think next week will see some activity and murmurs that changes higher up the ladder could be happening over the forthcoming weeks but not sure how true that is

My understanding from people I know at the club is he is happy and would be happy to stay. Being happy to stay and wanting to stay may be slightly different but I’ll take it.

We need to keep Hamer and build around him.

Changes higher up the ladder? Boddy gone?

I don't think this is work (players do have a community remit)... think this is just him doing it off his own back, showing the type of guy that he is.
Wouldn't a random man turning up at a school event end up with the police being called?

Although I see it's a Fisher school... ;)

Really intriguing stuff, thank you. Very similar to something I picked up on.
Maybe positive news in the next fortnight about a new contract?

I don’t mind Boddy but I’d be amazed if he was here for much longer.

king has rightly looked to change the commercial side of the club and appears to have been hands on in doing so … this is a pretty clear criticism of the CEO. The only exception being if Boddy wanted to make changes and Sisu blocked them ….

If he was selling hospitality at a fraction of our rivals he should be sacked just for that.

Well his role has effectively been made redundant, hard to see how an executive chairman doesn't overlap a CEO considerably
