He says we don’t need to win. Odd

he's on about the pressure that comes with the must win mentality, trying to stay calm is what I got that from that might be wrong.

"We put pressure on ourselves - it's human nature. You look at it and see we're bottom of the league and you think 'we've got to win, we've got to win' - no we haven't.

"We've just got to get ourselves into the rhythm and get ourselves playing. It's about performances and that's what I keep banging on about."

They are exceptions but even without them we raised around £5m

You just don’t seem to have any awareness at motives that drive Seppala - it’s purely investor returns
I'm fully aware her motive is investor returns. I'm just trying to work out how she intends to get them. if it's through player sales the way in which the club is running makes getting those sales much harder to come by. It's destined to fail.

She's in no hurry though, the worst case scenario for her is that the club remains a high interest borrower.

At some point though that old adage comes into play: if you own the bank £1,000 that’s your problem, if you owe them £10,000,000 that’s their problem.

Viveash really rates him
Out of interest, who else does Viveash rate who doesn't get as much of a look-in? I know you said he rated Allen and wanted him to play more the first season we came up.

Would think it matters who Robins rates.

If we are signing people based on everybody else rating them and then they get bombed off by the manager then somebody needs a word.

The Assistant manager (as everyone) can have a different view however, and it can be interesting to hear what that is.

I'd be very surprised, in fact, if he didn't. It seems a relatively normal healthy relationship for Viveash to feed in, but Robins to have the final say. That doesn't have to be binary either where we sign players Robins thinks are total shit just because Viveash thinks they're good.

Is this true or a joke? If true, what's the reason? Is he a difficult person or he doesn't think he's any good?
Not a joke
He thinks the lad can play at a high level if he stays healthy
It's only injuries that have held Eccles back
Every time he gets a run of games he seems to pick up a significant injury
Viveash does more coaching day to day than MR as you'd expect

I read your iitial commet as Viveash really 'hates' him! Thought it seemed odd. Glad to get clarification

Shocked at the poster who started the thread. Not one for doom laden over reaction!
tbf, our start was of concern. I won't go with the 'to be expected because of circumstances'. It was those circumstances that made it more of a concern, because they were dragging the club down, it seemed. I'm still concerned, for that matter, that Gyokeres will sod off and we'll never score another goal ever again!

Thank God for Robins though. If *he* sods off I'll be worried... again!

Worst league start in 103 years

Even under Thorn in the relegation season 11/12 we had 4 more points from 7 games.

We've won 9 in the last 46.

Our home form that people seem to be clinging on to for some reason reads 4 wins in 19 games.

We've played average teams at best amd not mustered one single win

Hull
Luton
Preston
Birmingham
Sunderland
Millwall

Will probably be called the usual 'bed wetter' 'back the team' etc but these are the saliant facts.

How the fuck do we get out of this? Absolute marooned at the bottom

The disrupted start clearly affected us, where we are now seems to bear that out.
People were right to be concerned but to not accept there were mitigating circumstances was text book bed wetting.

There's some priceless nonsense from the usual suspects in this thread!

I think the return of CoH has had a major impact as well...also not having Vik and Godden up top.

Never say never in football, (see Jamie Allen), but I don't see how Godden gets back in this side unless he's fit and Vik gets injured.

We look better with one up top, the midfield has nice balance and he wasn't playing well before his injury anyway.

Was going to be all arrogant and gain internet points but it is so healthy for us to be able to express ourselves and how we re feeling and we should embrace that and one another

I feel a lot of love for each of my friends on here

Robins and his assistant are friggin genius

That's nice Pete, but saying I told you so is nice as well :ROFLMAO:

The thought of playing 2 strikers just doesnt work for us. Blessing in disguise and proves my point. BOX MIDFIELD ALL DAY LONG.

I'm sure this is no co incidence in the anazing clean sheet run.

BOX MIDFIELD benefits our back 5 too.

But the circumstances aided an air of bad club management, despondency, and lowering morale. If an organisation's constantly fire fighting then it distracts from the core business.

Those circumstances are why to be worried, not a reason to excuse as far as I was concerned - a darkness surrounding the club is not good. Thankfully, we have a team manager that can get results despite the ineptitude surrounding him.

It also applies now of course (and I know I'm preaching to the quoted comverted) that we're not promotion contenders as it stands, we're a midtable Championship side! We'll see how we go after a break...

Didn't Robins allude to there being issues within the squad that had been resolved?

I agree about us being mid table. I stood by my pre season prediction during our bad start and l stand by it now 12th- 16th.

I'm waiting to see where we are come November before stressing too much. If we haven't significantly closed the gap to 21st by then we are in big trouble.

And furthermore I think we'll need to have but plenty of points on the board before the transfer window opens.

Time to worry, only closed the gap to 21st by one point :p

He made a comment after one of the games that nobody really seemed to pick up on, can't remember exactly what he said but remember it sounded like there was a problem, its been sorted and we move on from here.

Personally I took the Notts Forest last year's performance as inspiration.
Our team was/is intrinsically good, and we just needed our first win to get on track, which is what happened.
I did post once early on saying the pitch fiasco was a potential disaster, as there were all sorts of possibilities including points deduction, having to play at another ground again, etc. but once those worries went away, I was never in any doubt that we were good enough to climb the table.

Anything to do with the Palace lad that got shipped off?

Good shout, something strange went on there.

Wonder if that was just after the Palace lad went back.
