If nothing is sorted before derby this game could get very very very nasty! It seems as a Coventry fan this season as fans the football us not wat we are interested about! Getting the owners out is! Is that really what we want to do every Saturday? Something need to happen cuz at the moment we are in the biggest mess we have ever been in!!

The CET has no relevance to anything concerning the club, were very pro-Sisu, and never asked any questions before(When Hoffman was on the board), now very much pro Hoffman and anti-Sisu.

Would be nice to have an independent press in this country.

It doesn't matter who "leaked" it. It looks like the proposed takeover would have broken the rules. If the bid was on the verge of breaking rules, then it is good that the matter has been brought into the open.

There is enormous media interest in the financial integrity of owners and this club is in enough trouble, without being owned illegally.

Instead of whinging, the onus is on Hoffman to prove that his bid is credible, legal and still relevant

Totally agree Tommy but I can see this whole affair getting dirtier - after all doesn't ken run an industrial spying company so sure he is busy digging up the dirt. If hoff bid did break rules then that's a poor show from him but surely just get allardyce off the board and submit the bid again.

The fecking sisu bastards leaked this to the national press to investigate.

lmao, the sun article is the worst article i've seen, especially with a fake email, surely that alone breaks rules.

i suspect a new bid will be made on tuesday.

what i hope doesnt happen though, is that the FA will now take a bigger interest in this bid, since i think that would slow the talks down even more.

the best we can hope for is that with the new bid we get placed under a transfer embargo until the take-over is complete so we can't lose any more players, then be taken over before the jan transfer window.

AFC – I know how passionate you are about CCFC and I applaud you for it

But like so many others, your hatred of SISU may be blinding you.

There is animosity between SISU and Hoffman. Hoffman should have known that they, above all people, would look to exploit any potential weakness in his bid/consortium.

SISU found a potential problem and perhaps leaked it.

So whose fault? It is Hoffman’s fault.

Hoffman needs to prove his bid is 100% watertight and do so quickly. Some damage limitation and a quick formal rebuttal is needed

I'd hope that the FA, and Football League would take a bigger interest in the deal, as they should have done in the past with all clubs, not just ours.

About time that club ownership was looked at properly by the authorities for once, and not the laughable "fit and proper person" test.

Hoffman knew what sort of untrustworthy arrogant twat he was dealing with from the start, confirmed when he broke confidentiality after the Burton meeting by naming Ken Bruce. His investors surely cannot be so precious as to pull out of a deal simply because some hack from her majestys gutter press asks them a couple of questions - if they are so thin skinned maybe football isn't the business to get into. Hoffman has dropped a clanger if the allardyce business is true but that is simply rectified with a resignation and rebid. Ball is in Hoffman court for him to restructure bid and get job done. As supporters we need to show Dulieu and his teaching cronies that they aren't welcome and get the hell out of OUR club. Hoff rebid - fans protest - pincer movement to get rid of SISU before the damage is irreparable.

Tommy - I hate SISU yes.

I do agree that Hoffman bid might not be water tight which is fine. But the whole period of due dillegence is where this battle should have been fought.

If SISU were right about anything through that then I have no problem.

My big problem is that Ken has scuppered this deal because he has not kept his gob shut and leaked this to the national press. That is bang out of order regardless.

The way this has blown out into the nationals means some of those investors may/will not be interested in Coventry anymore.

Now I am no SISU Lover but all this hoffman is the best thing since slice bread is bordering on fanatasism.
Lets be honest here he or or one of his investors should have known what they were doing regarding the rules of buying the club.
So the way I look at it is,how can he be any better than SISU when he cannot even get the basic fundamentals of his bid right, how would we be in say 1 year of him running us as a club if thats the way he was going about it.
Smells like a dhinsa to me self publisising wanting to be a hero when he obviously can't be due to his shambolic way of trying to buy the club.
Lets look at it this way.
Ok orange Ken apparently let this out,maybe it is for the best at this moment in time.
What would have happened if this never came out and hoffman did take over then it all came out what had happened regarding 3rd party interest etc and the FA were going to make an example by closing us down or whatever, then what all the hoff lovers would have been saying this is SISU's fault how could they have sold us knowing this is what Hoff was doing etc etc.
Don't get me wrong I want better times for the club but lets just think for a minute is the hoff the best thing, just because he supports cov does not make him the messiah and the right man for the job if he can't get the basics right.
The whole thing is a load of shambals but then this is CCFC were talking about and nothing is straight forward.

This is simple: Hoffman brought someone into the deal that legally can't be involved. That's a schoolboy error.

He then withdrew the bid because it can't go on. If Hoffman was squeaky clean here the bid would carry on, it would be bulletproof. But the fact that it's been withdrawn shows Hoffman fucked up.

Look I want us to be taken over as much as the next guy, but let's keep our heads on straight shall we? Or we'll end up with Hoffman out protests in 3 years...

It is all over. The investors have left Hoffman on his own.

GARY Hoffman’s bid to buy Coventry City has failed after his investors withdrew their support.

The company behind the high-flying banker and life-long Sky Blues fan are fuming after claiming there have been a number of breaches of confidence by the club about the identities of the £30million backers.

Members of the group, including high-profile people in football and the company’s chairman Ken Bruce, were contacted by a number of national newspapers yesterday and quizzed about their involvement by reporters.

And, although Hoffman insists that those people would have gone public once a deal had been struck, he says they wanted to retain their anonymity – other than to City’s directors and owners Sisu – while the process was on-going.

“It is with great sorrow that the investors told me yesterday afternoon that they are pulling out,” revealed the hugely disappointed Hoffman whose group have informed the club.

“I have kept them at the table a number of times despite bumps along the road but a number of confidences have been broken and that has culminated in some tabloid newspapers seeking more from the company and individuals involved.

"This is not any way to do business and although I regret it, I am not surprised they are pulling out.

“I think there was a great opportunity here that people were ready to invest much needed funding in the team and on the commercial side, and had started to have exploratory discussions on the stadium, but they have found it very difficult to have the right conversation.”

I agree with alot of people here and this moment of time think how the players feel, they have to try get rsults while a take over bid failed because the hoff never made sure that the bid was water tight. What happens now im getting really worried.

All this would have come out upon a takeover anyway, so why does it matter if it's happening now. If a little press attention is all it takes for this lot to run scared, they weren't serious in the first place.
