Painful this year but feel it’s just nerves from everyone atm. Once we get more confident on the pitch, feel the fans will do their part look at Plymouth

One thing that annoyed me though was the pressure we put our players. Why are we booing and moaning at Dovin looking for a pass. Threw it right at the them because of it just my opinion.

Will say on PUSB, wish my section would get past Anyone and not just give up with it 🤣

Makes me laugh when I see posts saying because the away fans have moved that the atmosphere has been affected. What’s the issue? Is it because you can’t get a good view of them pulling at the netting over the seats?

It doesn't help having them far away. When games are dull and boring, it's often the only spark.

Today was the first day there was a decent number in the South Stand having a bit of back and forth.

The South Stand look lost. It's like looking the Highfield Road Main Stand. Not a song in them. The sooner Singers Corner all migrate to the South Stand, the better.

Fuck me it was wank today, people give the drummer shit but was crying out for him today to try and give us something.

It's bollocks about, "the team need to show it first". Thats the entitlement thats killing us. It's not like we were losing.

Too many tourists in the corner currently, want to be in the atmosphere but won't join in. I feel like I'm singing on my own half the time. Also the football is fucking dreadful, I didn't go today but managed to watch about 10 mins on the firestick and it was so ponderous and boring.

PUSB may well be "dull" (someone else's words, not mine)

But its one thing we've got which is unique to CCFC....... we aren't the "best atmosphere in the league", nor do we have a stack of other unique songs.

Will be a very sad day if its gets ditched for good.

It takes a couple of people in a block to either get a chant going or get your block joining in with one that's already going. Shut up about it and start stuff FFS!

I'm not a tourist, but in my defence as a second season Block 15er, I lost my voice following the Pompey game, and was reduced to clapping and ' quiet shouting' to slighy protect my recovering throat ( partially successful) That said, a few around me ( who do travel away) seem to leave for the concourse ten minutes before the end of each half, and WLADITT apart, rarely sing. Not really what Singers Corner was meant to be. It does struggle when the drummer desists.

So many of our fans are moaning pricks. I had two behind me today who did nothing but moan from minute 1. Absolutely hated BT and JL playing it to each other, and kept screaming FORWARD, and then when they went long they shouted SHITTTT. Also booed when MVE turned under pressure and pass back to Dovin. Actually booed a player keeping the ball. Insanity.

“Too many tourists in the ground - at least, that’s what it sounds like on my firestick” - brilliant

I don't know if you have ever been to Anfield or Old Trafford? I have been to both numerous times and both can be quiet as a mouse.

The idea of a football stadium being a cauldron for 90:minutes is a myth... based on 49:years of research following Coventry away.

It is easier for away fans to make more noise than home fans in my experience despite being out numbered

It's almost like having a season ticket in the same spot for past 10 years kinda gives me an idea what's going on where I am.

I would argue that people who just watch the whole game sat at home should lose the right to moan about the atmosphere inside the ground. But apparently you didn’t even manage that!

Sounds like where I was (block 26). Grim.

Lads beside me in 14 were moaning about a “shit atmosphere”. Didn’t hear them join in one song. Saw one of them checking his Bet365 account most of the match. Another one was looking for fucking trainers on Vinted.

I guess the atmosphere is like the team’s fortunes - ebbs and flows over time. We had an amazing couple of years and it’s in the doldrums a bit now.

But they were there! and there is a fair amount of noise coming from 12/13/14 now that they moved in.

FWIW a couple of chaps near me in 15. Long term block 15 blokes. spent 20 minutes of the first half talking about a work issue. Then they bugger off at 35 mins and come back 20 mins into the second half. The other times, they kept talking about how shit we are.

I think we just hit a really unusual sweetspot a few years ago.

We had a combination of 3 things that all created the atmosphere…
Success x being back in the championship for the first time in ages x being back at the CBS / back in stadiums generally after covid.

It was all new again and exciting. Even playing proper teams that brought decent followings was a novelty. One which has worn off a bit now.

Spoke to a cousin yesterday who is an anfield season ticket holder… was saying how shit their atmosphere is and how he’s bored with games because they are in total control. He said he loved it when Leics went one nil up as it felt exciting and got the crowd going. Imagine feeling like that!!! 🤷🏻🤷🏻. Anyway he got me yet another Cov mug for Xmas and did the usual line of ‘what league are you lot in now’? routine…. Scousers pffffff… funniest people in the world apparently 😂😂

Can't disagree tbf

Think that's the biggest thing I notice. We don't 'will them on' anymore which sounds mad. We used to genuinely make a difference, now its all a bit meh

There does feel a disconnect tbf

Its 4am and im going to get a bit wavy, but whether its the style of play or the players you don’t get the chance to bond by willing a player on and then succeeding as your avatar on the pitch because the game isn’t about will, pace, strength, it’s methodical and planned and even a good move gets a clap not a roar because it’s not a guttural support you’ve self inserted into and won, it’s appreciation of something you’ve seen and not internalised. We love Bassette because when he chases a keeper down or runs onto a ball over the top we are him in that moment and our encouragement can push him on. You can’t do that to Sheaf sat thinking ten seconds about a pass in his half. No amount of roaring will do, the self insert is only about pass selection and if not the same just leads to frustration.

Dribbling is similar, Saka and EMC can make us love them by taking a man on and beating him, again best encouraged with a roar. Big hooming shots like Hamer did. Meaty challenges like Fadz. These things are guttural and bond you on an emotional level with the player. As do big performances where we drag it over the line or come back. None of which we’ve seen much of for a while.

Anyway I should go to bed.

Yes - find it odd that there are a few by me, who go home and (most) away, miss a minimum of 20 minutes of every home game (presumably for more drink, which they can have had before or after the game), instead?)

Don’t get the outcry re atmosphere - so many elements which dictate this and also periods in time where perhaps it’s not so good etc - that’s fine. Some people seem to think it should be 90mins of constant singing?!? Show me a ground where this happens?

We’ve just lost alot of players with songs and deep connection with club - that naturally will take time, 1/2/3 years maybe to replicate.

Ultimately the product dictates massively - we are in transition, quite big one now with MR leaving after 7 years of success pretty much. People just need to remain balanced.

for example we’ve been crying out for clean sheets, more solid, get that yesterday and it’s end of the world! Ffs. Was it great yesterday no, but certainly not as bad as people making out.

It's only as good as what we get on the pitch

The atmosphere against Luton 2nd half was fine as it was against Sheff U when we were pushing for the equaliser, if we were flying this wouldn't even be a question

Funnily enough when we are 4-0 up against the worst side in the division with the game already won or we are watching the dullest game all season like we were yesterday the atmosphere isn't gonna be electric
