He shrugged but I think that just screamed low confidence and searching, dreaming, of an excuse.
Closing in on 2 months without a win if we fail to get one at QPR. He isn’t the only one wishing he was somewhere else.

Can't wait for someone to compare us to last last season. Difference is we had Gyokeres and Hamer who had already proven themselves as two of the best players in the league the season before.

They hadn't. They were largely unknown until last season and never really got their names round until xmas.

To be fair, our squad needed more depth and it now has more depth. Those 4 players, despite being with is in L1, have all done well for us in the Championship.
But we should be bringing in better players, particularly with the budget we have, and players that have been key in the past move into a rotational role. I know this is going to take some time but none of our new signings have made a serious impact yet and we've left ourself woefully under covered in the middle.

Wright on current form just looks like a ludicrous waste of money. We panicked about and over spent on Kitching who now can't get a game because Binks is playing well and we're left with a midfield two way below on quality.

The recruitment just hasn't felt joined up at all and now we've got a lopsided squad with too many expensive gambles.

It's going to be a long season.

In fairness to Wright, and this won't be a popular opinion, I actually thought he offered a bit more than Simms when working the channels and perhaps added a bit of energy when he came on. But the miss was hideous I'm afraid.

Anyone who thinks Godden doesn't add anything except goals, presumably didn't notice some of the clever work he did outside the box tonight.

The problem is that we need him in the box anyway because no other bugger seems likely to score!

All that said, if Godden gets twenty goals this season and spends 85 minutes in a deck chair every game, that's good enough for me. Our problems like elsewhere, imho.
I'm assuming the bit about wright adding more is a joke? Simms plays a more central role but his energy got the goal for us and seemed the only outlet. Godden was bang average tonight and didn't hold up the ball as needed.

I still can’t explain how he put it over the bar from there. It looked far easier to score.

Combined with the wastes of space in defence he’s cost us 2 points
He wasn't ready for it, was on his heels and so it ended up under his foot and high high in the sky for a field goal.

I will also add Robins will get complete support from me and the majority of supporters even if we do have a terrible season but he needs to show he's a manager that can work with an expensively assembled squad and motivate the players.

He's just as to blame as the rest at the moment, his game management has to improve.

I thought Wright made us brighter too. Bad miss of course though . This insistence on 2,strikers though is bewildering. It didn’t work last season either.

People need to calm down it wasn’t that bad again. We do play some lovely build up play but alas we have to be more incisive. Simms offered more tonight but Wright is a lumbering joke. They’re both not fit to lace Viks boots

He's been poor every time he's come on this season imo. Doesn't look like he wants to be here.

Don’t blame him - must be thinking what he’s done wrong and now we are leaking goals everywhere and creating nothing

When Wright came on we were under the cosh, I would've been tempted to bring Simms off (or even Godden) and sure up the midfield a bit

Only caught the 2nd half but for the last part of it, we were shocking. Seemed nobody could really be arsed. First touch of a few were terrible. He does need time, but Wright had a stinker, that feeble cross in the last few mins just seemed to epitomise the the whole team performance/effort from what I’ve seen.

We just don’t look that exciting, well drilled side from last season. Fair enough we’ve got a lot of new players that need to gel, but from what I’ve seen tonight, that was terrible.

Got faith in Robins to turn it around, but massive questions need to be asked of the recruitment department imo.

That midfield pairing of Kelly and Eccles just is not good enough for all the effort they put in. Going to get dragged into a relegation battle if this goes on and it’s just not forgivable
Ayari needs to play himself into the Hamer role or Allen needs to be in there for the energy.

Those two are too low on quality and have far too little energy.

Eccles in particular struggles past the hour, to leave them on for the full game while changing the fullbacks was criminal.

The first half was a hell of a lot better to be fair.

I’m just frustrated

I genuinely just don’t think we’re very good to be honest

It's not an unfair point, but daft as it sounds I think we're back in a kind of rebuilding phase.

If either Simms or Wright had clicked straight away then it's a different story, but that's football.

For me personally, Robins has done enough to earn a bit of trust. He's shown he can turn things around, and I'm confident he will.

On the plus side until the last minute of the game we'd defended pretty well. There's plenty to build on here, imho.
