You can call them shallow minded folk who care more about a team winning than where it comes from though, because that is precisely what they are.
It won't last, Coventry folk can't even be arsed to turn up for teams that have been around for decades let alone shithouse franchises. Once the initial novelty value wears off and the tickets are no longer free, they'll struggle to get a few thousand. Then hopefully they'll go bust and fuck off to where they came from.
Is that also the Sisu plan because if it is we have years of the same crap and more lost fans?
All Sisu need to do is get a good deal from Wasps and this is the time to do it.
They have alluded to it so lets push them on it.
People, including myself, are getting pissed of that there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm tied in this year with my season tickets but another 6 months of this and I will think twice about renewing.
Absolutely. Makes you wonder if Chelsea or Arsenal decided to relocate to the City, how many would take the Italia attitude of "great chance to see a Premiership team".

In direct competition with the Tigers in that neck of the woods.
Less season ticket holders if they go or not.
You cant call them anything Brighton. Look at it from another angle, Real Madrid play Barcelona in an exhibition game at the Ricoh. Your offered a ticket for 15 quid and decide its good value. How can anyone call you anything for going to watch the game and supporting one team or another just because their not CCFC. Peoples arguments on the whole Wasps saga don't add up, the only argument any one can have against them is that they are a franchise and the way they have treated their fans is appalling.
The figure for the first game isn't going to show us much, look how many turned up for Gillingham! The more telling figure will be next season.
An exhibition game is not the same as permanently relocating.

Get a good deal? how exactly? What is our bargaining position? We cant even prove to Wasps we can get 8000 through the turnstiles. To them we are a dead duck and they will put up with us for the duration of the rent deal and then want rid.

At what point does it become more viable for CCFC to say pick up Hinkley UTD's venue and for a small investment increase capacity ,but take all they generate?
You will need to ask Wasps as they are talking about it.
Both teams are out on a limb at the moment and maybe, just maybe the 2 working together will be a success.
The alternative is a bigger risk of a new stadium, which CCFC again can't finance and will be subject to similar problems as at the Ricoh, or liquidation.

As I said in my post that is all any one can have against them. Coventry is more working class than middle or upper middle class. The demographics for the type of supporters Wasps want to attract is vastly different to Citys, I doubt their will be only a very small percentage of cross over supporters. That said an exhibition game is not the same but the freedom of choice to attend is, the Wasps support who travel from the London area are still the ones I feel sorry for. I would also assume that the demographic that wasps attract are not as inclined to have a view that is as entrenched as a lot of us on here.
CCFC can't finance getting to the Prem either but you keep going on about us breaking even with a rental deal if we do that?
I don't fully understand it but their seems to be an elitism in the top league that stops smaller teams like Coventry and Moseley getting into it.
Bloody hell, I'm used to getting a rough ride from time to time, and I'm happy to accept constructive criticism, but I'm not sure what I've really done wrong here?
Could it be that people are annoyed with the actual subject matter and are directing that anger / frustration at me / the CT?
Seems like a fairly balanced article to me? The fact the figure includes season ticket holders and 3,500 free tickets is fairly high up in the story.
Perhaps the Gillingham game attendance would have been a fairer comparison. I accept that. But the fall from that initial gate is also interesting, and something some have predicted might also happen at Wasps.
Only time will tell.
To suggest I have any affinity for Wasps, particularly over the Sky Blues, is nonsense I'm afraid.
The fact is they will be a permanent Coventry team. We will have to cover their successes - and their failures. I'm sorry if people don't agree with that decision. We are certainly not the only media outlet who will be reporting on Wasps.

[h=2]Figure is more than double the number who watched Coventry City play Walsall on Saturday[/h]
To be fair, the sub heading:
Sounds a bit off, yes they have got rid of that many tickets it is fact. But then it is straight in BOOM to make ccfc look crap and Wasps good. It might just be how I read it.

I'm sorry, but to some, unless you demonise them unconditionally; you're in cahoots with them
That's fair comment. I see your point. And I know "I don't write the headlines / sub headings" probably won't cut it as a response!
