LAST is there really a choice though, is there serious buyers who are willing to pay the type of money needed to purchase CCFC of SISU?
I agree with the second point, the Ricoh was built for CCFC it should be our home.
Who Knows put it up for sale and see.
People are quick to say CCC should give up the Ricoh for free or at a knockdown price.
So why shouldn't Sisu do the same after all they got it for free.
It's ok though as people could give up with CCFC and go and watch Solihull Blaze instead
Been waiting for that for weeks from someone! ;-) Thing with that is that we had no choice. The rink was falling to bits and was pretty close to being deemed unsafe. Coventry was the only place that came forward with a reasonable solution. Generally the fans supported the move too (myself included) which is why so many Villa fans, Baggies, Dingles and Bluenoses still attend now.
This is before you look at the arguments regarding hockey being a franchise sport (which is a model I don't like btw), economic impact, impact on other teams in the local area and the upsizing rather than downsizing.
I can name 4 people straight off who are consistently at away fixtures.
Hockey is generally more of a regional sport anyway. Blaze being the West Midlands team, Panthers being the East Midlands team, Devils being the Welsh team etc.
Oh so you're not a born and bred cov kid then. So you won't have a clue how we feel about having our club stolen from our city.
You outsiders don't really give a fuck ifIits in Coventry or not do you? You don't have an emotional tie that we do.
The club goes hand in hand with the city.
If the council would give planning permission for sites within the boundaries then I agree it should be in there.
sis should publically apply for planning permission inside council boundries
if council reject sisu should publically ask why
if the council say ricoh is there, sisu should publically make offer for it
if they reject that there can be no doubt that council are pushing club outside city boundaries.

But they won't and a ground outside of the city is totally unacceptable therefore the only logical course is to return to the Ricoh which is exactly what will happen.
and change of CCFC ownership.

There only two issues I have with that:
a) Is there a location inside Council boundries which would be suitable for a new CCFC Stadium?
b) Now that Seppala and Lucas are discussing a return I would like the sniping and games in front of the media to stop and sensible negotiations continue until things are resolved.
I think that's a fair one re locations - the Parkside site was once sighted for the Ricoh (in the late 90s). The council steered the club towards the Gas Works and the land was subsequently developed by the university. Such a shame as I believe a new stadium on the site would have led to a proper 'new stadium bounce' with attendances far better than the ones at a ground that is almost outside of Coventry.

no part of you resents councils for being dicks? not one part?
fuck me both sides are dicks, why ar epeople taking sides.
There is also no "Greater Grimsby", "Greater Bolton", Greater Nottingham"........the point is teams have/are playing outside of their City's boundary with relatively success
Do you love arguing on things you don't know about?
I lived near Grimsby for about 17 years. You can see signs saying Greater Grimsby. And their ground is less than 1 minutes walk from Grimsby and 5 from the town centre. You couldn't get it any closer to Grimsby on the main road in or it would be on the docks.
this looks about right for sisu
What happens if the Ricoh was a few hundred yards down the A444 and built where Makro was and outside of the Coventry City Council boundary?

There are lots of reasons why they could reject it.
Traffic congestion. Residential objections. Public transport. Green belt. Just to name a few.
Highly unlikely they could reject it because the Ricoh exists, but some fast food outfits, supermarkets etc have been rejected because they are close to similar businesses.
so some sympathy for SISU if it just isnt possible to have a ccfc owned ground in coventry?
No sympathy whatsoever for SISU.
Also CCFC cant afford it. Rental is the best option with access to all football related incomes transferring to CCFC as part of the rental deal.
All fans happy with that ?
no
not CCFC fans
edit-oh access to f&b? maybe then....up to sisu's accountants to decide that one, owning it would be preferable though.
Yes but we all know that women would not know what 20 yards are.
and unless Joy has had a sex change she will also be unable to read a measuring tape.
It is easy manipulating a boundary line to suit your argument but if it is in Warwickshire then it is not in Coventry.
