Personally I think we still have and have always had a squad more than capable of getting in the top six in the league.
However due to us about to have our 4th manager ( including caretakers) in one season that may not happen.
I blame 2 people for this
TF and Wag

Again. All theory and speculation.
Yes my opinion
Start of this season we had a squad that could IMO easily get in the top six.
The manager who signed most of those players was given three matches then sacked.
We then lost 5 league matches on the bounce.
A new manager came in.
Did not like some of the players who were signed previously and so did not play them.
He stated that the likes of Cody and Barton are very good players but are unfortunate as they do not suit his style if play.
Robins was a good manager. Added some quality of his own.
However after those 5 defeats it was a massive challenge.
Our squad is that good it was achievable.
Because of the circus created by TF and Wag's decision to sack Thorn. We were in a false position.
MR looks amazing attracts interest.
They should have sacked thorn at the end of last season and them appointed Robins if they were going to do this.
Robins would likely have had us in the top two.
It would have been expected. So he may not have got head hunted so vigorously
So yes I blame them.

Don, you seem to be saying that if MR had been with us from the start of the season (and hence successful for longer) he would have been a less attractive proposition for other clubs seeking a manager. Frankly, I can't see the logic in that argument.
Thorn begged to keep his job, made promises he DID NOT KEEP. He got backing and proved he was simply an inept manager, with or without backing, we made the same mistakes.
Using his system, we lost the next 4, morale was down and MR had to turn it around - which he did, to his credit. We took our time and got the right man, if Shaw wasn't just as inept as his predecessor, we would've picked up points.
We had a top 6 side? Unsure with hindsight, we are struggling with the side we have now, which is better, with Moussa, Bailey, Adams and Clarke. Also McG hadn't signed yet.
Robins has to said Cody OR Barton did not suit is system, Cody said it after he left for Gillingham.
I think the management has been at fault, it was going to be difficult after the start of the inept management, however, even MR has made some mistakes that has cost us - as with every manager at every level.
You would argue, last season wasn't AT's fault as he had no backing etc. perhaps the board thought similar, hence they backed him in the summer after he made broken promises, made the same mistakes and proved he hadn't changed.
If anything, the board has made our season after backing every manger or caretaker we've had!
Management from Thorn and Shaw has cost us, but even MR has made his mistakes.
Management has to take the blame here, not the board, they've done their job.
I quite like this thread because its highlighting the posters who are just so anti-SISU that logic just doesn't apply to them.
How anyone can blame TF for Robins actively seeking to leave the club is beyond me. Utterly bizarre.
agreed
but then everyone knew dongon was a gimmick poster anyway

The Sky Blues have worked their way through ten managers since they slipped out of the top flight 11 years ago but Fisher stressed: “This is where we need to draw a line in the sand and say enough – enough of firing managers. We need to get out of that habit and, to draw a football analogy, put our foot on the ball, give Andy a chance to reorganise the resources.
“Andy is front and centre stage at the moment and we are going to work with him to make sure that he’s got all the resources lined up.

Now can you show proof of Andy Thorn begging to keep his job that you keep referring to as if it is fact.
You blame Thorn for the 5 defeats after he was sacked comedy gold

If SISU had done things properly in the first place ie- 6 years ago, we wouldn't be having these rows now.
I think you'd have to go back further than that...
Some people have long-term memory loss!

It wasn't their fault AT and Shaw were fucking shit.
They appointed Robins, the man who took us forward, appointed by TF & Wag, yet, you say this season is their fault. Wow.
Well did Fisher and Waggot appoint Thorn?Double-Wow. I like it that it wasn't their fault that their appointments - Thorn and Shaw - as you put it were 'shit'; yet then can take credit for appointing Robins who's 'not shit'.
I'm not agreeing with Don on this one; but talk about wanting it all your own way?!? 'Kinnell
