In fairness we are 12 th and 6 points from the playoffs

Last season 13th place we're on 38 points after 29 games chasing a team in 6th on 44 points called coventry city

The season before we were on 38 points in 15th after 29 games also 6 points from 6th

At this point the league table is similar to the last 2 years

In the play off season though we went on a run of 2 losses in 18 games from this very same point. I just don't think we have the team for that kind of run this year.

And last year backs that up as well. Another top half finish I expect this year, of course would be glad to be proven wrong. Just don't see it.

Is it just me that’s never called us Cov? Only ever heard other teams fans call us that, Latubeaudiere’s Cov Cov Cov makes me feel the same way.

It's a throwback to the 70s for me. When I was growing up as a supporter in the 70s we all said Cov, never Sky Blues. I think I just say City now.

I use it, stole if from the rugby. Loved hearing old boys shouting "Go on, Cov!" after a few hours sinking Guinness.

Cov has always been Coventry Rugby. I have no idea why our players and some fans have latched onto it.

We are ‘City’ hence the end of the Sky Blue Song isn’t ’Cov Cov Cov’. Starting to wonder if they’ll change the words at this rate

'kinnell, this is like Greggs and 'Town', but worse.

Did you see us making playoffs at this point in 2022/23 or further back, us winning the league in 2019/20?

On both occasions, I didn’t. 6 points off playoffs is a good place to be, especially since we’ve nearly halved that deficit since Norwich away. Hilariously, there was more than few people reckoning we were in for a relegation battle post-Norwich away.

I've never heard this before. I remember the story but I never realised he took on the smarmy O'Brien to correct him for spreading lies. It takes balls to put yourself on the radio, discussing all your personal problems with a journalist that thinks you're scum.

O'Brien gets his arse absolutely handed to him here:

I've actually just started to like him more having listened to that. Fair play.

He's made O'Brien look like exactly what he is there. Obnoxious sniveling little prick.

Everyone from about 4th down has been poor and inconsistent, that’s the league.
I agree, but that's only the fans' perceptions because they want to win every week, and we expected much more than most this season.

It's so competitive, and it's probably fairer to say that most teams from 4th down have been good but apparently inconsistent because they are coming up against other good sides all the time.

I don't buy the argument it's a poor division , it's hyper competitive and a division full of lots of good sides with lots of good players that can beat eachother on any given day

Was great to see him do the whole MVE fist pump yesterday, helps build the fan connection and is another sign all things are following the right trajectory.

But crikey, how awkward did it look?! I always thought he was quite a “cool” guy, but you wouldn’t have thought it!

Long may it continue!

Nah I’ve been amazed how poor the majority of teams we’ve played this season have been.

Well if that's true, they're all completely wasting many millions of pounds on players, coaches, staff and facilities.

I mean compared to previous seasons. I thoughts Leeds were excellent and Burnley efficient but previous years I’d have thought a few above us play nice football or look better. Almost every game this season has felt reasonably close even if we’re playing badly.

Yes to the title (Or at least the opportunity to) And no to the play offs. I didn't say it wasn't possible, I just don't think this team will do it.And just like I haven't overreacted to any of the defeats or low points this season, I won't to missing out. It's a young team that is growing, and just needs that extra bit of support in the right places.

Just because it's happened before doesn't mean it will again, this team doesn't have the personality or the world class talents that we had in the play off season. I don't think it's far off, but this team will definitely lose more than 2 games between now and the end of the season.

While I tend to agree I still think we've got more wriggle room than 2 defeats.

17 games left;

We’ve got to win at least 10 -
30 points and takes us to 68.

then the remaining 7 games -
win 1/draw3/loose3 - additional 6 takes you to 74 which may be enough for 6th

I think it’s too much, but just glad we are showing signs of morphing back into a team again. And it’s great to just feel there’s something on the games. Just worry about Swansea for now…….fancy us again 😬🤣🤩

I hate that smug wanker O'Brien so I'm glad to hear this: Up the Lampard!

I’m kind of nostalgic for a time when a footballer’s childcare arrangements were what constituted headline news

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, just take it game by game!

74 points should be enough for 5th or maybe even 4th.

I agree, and the meltdowns when we lose have been silly all season IMO.

Just a thought - if both teams look poor, in a funny way it might be because they are both playing well enough to snuff each other out...
