Should Grimes arrive would that spell the end of the more direct style of play that has always brought us results?

Can’t imagine Grimes will have joined without a return to the slow patient build up.

I think 5th and 6th are up for grabs.
Any team from a group of 10 that can put a run together can get one of them
I agree, It looks doable but what's putting me off from really believing is not the amount of points we are away but the amount of teams between us and the play offs. a couple of defeats and suddenly at least a couple of teams would look pretty far ahead again.

Take Norwich for example. We have been with 1-2 points behind them for ages and they always seem to win when we do

He's not a lefty FFS. One of many centrist dickhead journalists to throw their toys out of the pram at the prospect of a mildly left wing government 😂

James O'Brien whenever I've listened to him, not anymore, never attacks those on the left just those on the right.

He is a cock womble, a cock womble sums him up perfectly.

usually any team getting more than 70 points gets in to the play offs
so we need 33 points from 16 games
10 wins 3 draws 3 defeats. Edited. Actually 17 games so 9 wins 6 draws 2 defeats

You’d need 75 to be certain, which means doubling our current points tally in 17 games. Got a lot of games at home still to come against the top half as well so those games will be extra important.

We're not going to get play offs but hats off to Lampard and the team for giving us some positivity, that we're even discussing it. We need 2 points a game, which is not impossible but very unlikely.

Looking at the teams above us though. It's not going to be Blackburn or Watford as they on the down turn and will finish mid table. It won't be Bristol City, for no other reason than it's Bristol City. They are destined to be a Championship club til the end of time. Finally it's not going to be Sheffield Wednesday.

West Brom, Boro & Norwich for the last 2 spots.

We way teams are taking points of each other, I think it will be lower than 'normal'. 70-71 I think would do it.

71 is usually sufficient. 2019 was the last time a team with more than 70 didn’t get to the playoffs
