How about the luck to have been born in the 50's rather than the 90's
The golden generation who experienced possibly 3 housing booms during their lifetime and all that comes from that, second homes on the continent etc, free University, Gideon buying votes with bonds with. enhanced Interest levels just prior to the Election?

You would have to have been born in 1940s to be allowed to buy Pensioner Bonds and also to enjoy the many other retirement benefits that pensioners are entitled to.

People born in the 1950s have had to endure overcrowded schools, several recessions, mass unemployment, bedroom tax, the gradual phasing out of sickness benefits, unemployment benefits and early retirement.

My sisters left school and started work when they were 15, fully expected to retire when they were 60 and have now been told they must continue working till they're 66.

Cameron is a tool, there is no better city in the country to build cars than Coventry

I agree.

But it's eventually not down to him. I've heard it said that cov is a bit of a socialist city attitude wise and that unions helped kill off the industry in the city. I'm not sure I agree, but it's a point of view.

Like you I do not fully agree here. Yes unions were strong in cov and yes pay in cov was above national avg but in 70s and 80s manufacturing and light industry across UK and indeed Europe was decimated by a lack of vision, short sighted policy, and competition from the Far East.

As you say it's not down to him so why does he have to make the comment he could say it would be good in either town.

Yep he's a tool! Bring it to Coventry

Perhaps he rates the competence and professionalism of their local council. Perhaps they don't use business speak such as the company is washing its face. Lucas is a huge liability for investment.

Perhaps, being in Wales, he can hardly say "fuck this shit hole, it would be better to build it in Coventry".

A large part of JLR power train was built in Wales - it's hardly lacking in skills or heritage.

I don't doubt it is Gren - I'm simply pointing out, like Gibbo's mentioned, it's not the done thing to big up the other team when you're standing in the home end.

Did he need to say anything? And he's not just bigging it up, he's offering them an MoD site.
