I didn't say we'll never deviate at all, we'll probably do it when we're losing fairly often, but its clear what formation the manager prefers and he's not one to panic.
Regardless when you're on a budget 3 plus a kid is still enough. Also if Max was just out on loan rather than permanent you'd have a recall option.

You can't recall mid season anymore. We would have to wait until January. Only 3 forwards would be a high risk strategy, particularly when there is no kid anywhere near able to step up. A few injuries and its goodbye to the season. By comparison Barnsley who only just stayed up, started last season with 6 forwards and 2 back up youngsters with 1st team experience. 4 forwards with 1st team experience is an absolute bare minimum required, and I will be amazed if MR goes past the transfer window with less than that.

I think max deserves a chance to prove himself next season, when godden was out of form/injured for a spell last season when we first went to 5 at the back max really stepped up for us, probably didn’t deserve to lose his place but even after that looked good when he played and gave us a different option. Didn’t ever seem to be bothered about being 2nd or even 3rd choice. Obviously good influence around the dressing room too.

Can you imagine this site if we signed Walsh lol, but let's be honest... Does that mean hamer or Kelly drop out?

Can't imagine Robins dropping his 1.2 mill or whatever it was signing

I reckon all three would be needed due to injuries (Kelly always picks one or two up and needs a rest at some point and Hamer sounds like he might miss a few due to suspension.

Other option is we play all three with a flat back four in a 4-3-2-1.

As much as I'd love Walsh signing the chances of it happening are small, but I'm sure another DCM will be coming in one way or another but more likely to be Sheaf/Garner/Otasowie.

Agree, I don’t want to speak to soon but as I mentioned yesterday a forest mate wasn’t best pleased ‘I don’t understand why we’ve let him go permanently, they think really highly of him’

I was saying to my brother last night that I I’m guessing Forest are probably one of those clubs really badly hit by Covid so need the cash. Players on decent wages, reliant on big crowds etc and only expecting reduced capacity at best for the foreseeable

Who knows, either way, exciting signing !

Probably a combination of those factors. A lot of Championship clubs are stretching their resources very thinly and the loss of ticket sales is huge.

What is perplexing is that Grabban is 32-33, so I’m surprised to see Forest let go a young talent, who seems to be a natural successor.

Either way, it looks like our gain.

He only started 5 league games all season

They had also sold their steady goal keeper Davies and replaced him with someone less experienced and sold their two strong centre backs, Lindsay and especially Ethan Pinnock, and didn't replace them adequately. Having a plethora of forwards and dismantling your steady defence is crazy. Great on that score we don't need to call for a taxi for MR!

People say only three forwards but we’ve got eleventy billion AMs a few of which could step in. Jodi and Kasta in particular I’d like to see up front.

You could play kastaneer there if you had to. I’d suspect it’s his best position as a fringe player

I've been looking at the Forest forum at http://www.forestforum.co.uk/threads/43203-Tyler-Walker/page95

Pages of supportive comments about Tyler's good qualities and unwarranted under-use at Forest ending up with this tribute:

One of the few players at Forest who's been sold that:
1) Hasn't mugged off the club collecting wages for being shit
2) Hasn't been sold off early in his career without seeing what he could do here
3) Was never part of a bomb squad
4) Wasn't sold at a loss
5) Hasn't cost the club a fortune in wages
6) Whose transfer hasn't really caused a meltdown or a "good riddance" type response.

Feels like a natural time for his Forest career to come to a close. I think he'll do OK at Coventry, best of luck to both player and his new club.

Sounds like a great addition to our squad. Only slight worry is they think Forest will have put a big sell-on clause in the deal. If that is likely, how big might it be?

If they have put a big sell-on clause, fair enough.
If he does very well here and we cash in, then it was money well spent at this level.
If he doesn't succeed (and we all hope he does), they won't get much money and we probably got him for a cheaper price.
I'd be happy for 20+ goals and sold for £10m+ at end of season, even if they kept 20/25% - even better if we can keep him!

CCFC were in the Championship for 11 seasons and a player only scored 15 once - I wouldn’t worry about it...

01/02 - Lee Hughes (14)
02/03 - Jay Bothroyd (11)
03/04 - Gary McSheffrey (12)
04/05 - Gary McSheffrey (14)
05/06 - Gary McSheffrey (15)
06/07 - Dele Adebola (9)
07/08 - Michael Mifsud (10)
08/09 - Clinton Morrison (10)
09/10 - Clinton Morrison (11)
10/11 - Marlon King (13)
11/12 - Lukas Jutkiewicz (9)

Yeah tbf we finished in the top half in one two of those seasons, and they are the two with the highest goal tally from an individual.

If he gets 20+ goals this season he will go for 20m+ easy, English, young and only have to look at the likes of Watkins.

To be fair, I think SBG was just airing a thought, not saying he thinks he’ll get 20 goals.

Yep, don't think he will personally would be a hell of a season if he did, would be happy with 10+ from either Godden or walker
