But Saka was a fans favourite and as I say Gus has insane stats. Rudoni sounds more like a Tavares or whatever that might come good. Like I say maybe that’s the fees you pay these days but just crazy money for me for players who are yet to perform at any level.
Hardly; he’s actually played consistent first team football.

Creating chances also requires players who can get in good positions so players in poorer teams will create less chances.
Well quite. Burgzorg and Healey is hardly Wright, Simms, Sakamoto is it.

Grass is always greener mate. Stats seem pretty conclusive. As an AM he’s worse than Palmer, maybe slightly better as a goal scorer but hardly Haji Wright.
Got to take them in context though. Hudds finished 23rd and scored 48, us 9th/70. You'd expect the same player to look much better statistically playing for us than them.

One of the key stats is that one of them is 22 years old and the other is 27. Rudoni has plenty of improvement in him.

We finished 9th cos our players are good. They finished 23rd cos their players aren’t is another way to look at that.

what's our thoughts of robins' strike rate with regards to signings?
clearly, he thinks he sees something in all the players he's signed.
has it got it badly wrong that often??

I think he’s great at first team signings and not so great with ones for the future or fringe players TBH. Other than Kitching I don’t think we’ve ever wasted significant fees. And he might still come good.

I don’t think Palmer is shite, but if you do, surely you want someone better?
I assume we're ignoring the bright stat at the top which gives Palmer a 6.91 average rating and Rudoni a 7.20 (better) ... while playing for a completely shite team?

If Robins wants him and thinks he improves it then who are we to say he is no good or not what we need. Two million seems a pretty good price for a player who has played at this level as I am sure Peterborough will be expecting far more for their players who haven’t.

My real issue with both Rudoni and O’Hare is that they are forwards more than AMs, at their best they’re trying to score goals not make them and not contribute massively to the build up.

For all people bitch about Palmer he’s good at what I want an AM to do in comparison. I think we need better, but that means better at the passing and assisting side of the game, not goal scoring when we have a front three who are very good at that.

managing fringe players is an art form in itself.

I think he manages them well, it’s just the real stinkers have been those types. Hilssner, Kastaneer, Dacosta, I don’t agree with the next two but popular opinion on here is Dasilva and Latibeaudiere as well.

The sort of few hundred K, might be alright to fill a hole types. Wilson, Collins as well.

Thinking about it I’m not sure who the cheapest (non free) player we’ve signed who has performed is. Sheaf at what £750k or something?

i'm still undecided on dasilva and lati, tbh. i think/hope we will be too good a team for them very soon. but that will need some better players to come in.
until then...

I can see potential in Dasilva. When he’s good he’s excellent and far better than Bidwell going forwards. He has some absolute shockers defensively though and I’m not sure if he can cut that out.

Watched the Huddersfield game online, but with the Huddersfield commentators, and even they weren't very complimentary of Rudoni.
If the fans, and commentators (who are normally more impartial) don't rate him, is he really that good ?

Isn't that what the Swansea fans said about Viktor Gyokeres when he signed for us.

would love to see dasilva sort out his shortcomings. deffo potential there.

although, i like bidders as well, for different reasons.

I wouldn't say he's far better than Bidwell going forward, just different. Bidwell wants to run onto balls to cross in, whereas Dasilva is more likely to take someone on.

Will he grow though?

Rudoni will only get better. 5 years from his peak.

He's ahead of where O'Hare was when he was 22 and we turned him into a 8m player.
