Bit harsh me thinks, Malaka is obviously 'tentatively" receiving information from someone
Who is very close too (but not inside) the higher echelons of the club. His updates always
Coincide with club fixtures, so would indicate he probably travels with to and from the game
With this person, he is always very clear it's only rumours.
A lot of people are quick to point out the reasons why any deal involving the Ricoh, SISU,
CCC, New Investors, Wasps would be impossible, but it's Obvious the person telling
Malaka hasn't said that much, titbits if you like.
It's obvious something's going on, it's obvious he's hearing it 2nd hand, I wouldn't be so
Quick to discount it if I were you.

Yeah, exactly. No-one is saying it is okay, but look at where we are now and where we are heading. Into obscurity at this rate.

Something has to give and it looks like a takeover or heavy investment is the only thing that can help us now.

They started as Birmingham Baron's before moving to Solihull in 1964 due to the rink in Birmingham closing. In 1968 they went out of business and a phoenix club, Solihull Vikings, were formed in 1970 lasting until 1974.

A new Solihull Barons was started in 1972, they became Solihull Blaze in 1996 and moved to Coventry in 2000 due to the availability of the Skydome and the poor condition of the Solihull rink.

In 2002, after a big refurb of the Solihull rink, Milton Keynes Kings moved to Solihull and became the Solihull MK Kings who rebranded in 2005 to Solihull Barons.

Besides which it's really lazy to suggest that a big investment / takeover automatically means the destruction of a clubs identity and heritage. Football is a business now and thats not going to change anytime soon but clubs as a community haven't totally disappeared as a result because fans have not allowed them to. Look at Man City, money pouring out of every orifice but there is still engagement with the fans and whether you like their football model or not there is no denying the good they have done for the city of Manchester as a whole. I work in a University and we partner with Man Citys community arm to deliver sports education and the facilities and experience they offer is first rate. That didn't happen because the owners had a sudden outpouring of community spirit though, they were persuaded to invest that money by fans groups, the local council, surrounding residents etc etc.

Fans have a responsibility to their club as much as the club does to the fans.

Never said he does. I would be happy with a consortium playing at a new stadium at the Butts. Personally, I would want totally new people so no Fisher, Hoffman or Elliot involvement. And, a total clearout of the club management and training staff so getting rid of them all including Oggy. We need a fresh start, I think. Still, don't want it to be Red Bull however.

Me too, it needs to be fresh, fans won't come back knowing Fisher is the owner. The damage is done.

Alright enough now, don't labour the point. We all know that success on the pitch isn't the only thing that matters but its massively lazy to assume that a takeover by a big commercial entity would only deliver success at the expense of everything else that makes City city.

Besides which it's not fucking Red Bull or Timmy fishface anyway! It could easily be just a stupid rumour with no basis in fact!

Of course, but Tim Fisher is damaged goods to nearly all CCFC fans, it just wouldn't work. It's like asking Blackpool fans if Owen gave up control of the club and Karl become owner and promised investment if they would be happy?

Probably won't be Red Bull. Pity though. I would rather City be owned by a leading Sport and Media Concern than the present hedge fund. The hedge fund was in it for a quick buck, Red Bull have a track record of sporting success. The other alternative is a Scheich, Russian, Chinese or any other loaded person who needs a toy to play with. Given that we need a huge amount of finance to get our own stadium and up the leagues, Red Bull would be the best bet.

How is it massively lazy to assume that, judging by Red Bulls previous involvement with Saltzburg and Leipzig. It would be massively naive to think not.

Thankfully it looks like RB will have no involvement anyway.

My hypothetical scenario was that he has invested money and did bring success. Doesn't matter anyway.

The club was failing and losing money when Fisher arrived. He was sent to make a value led turnaround.

Up until now the opposite has happened- except that he has cut costs and losses.

If he gets someone to take us over and solve the known problems, then he has succeeded.

At that point, I will forgive him.

It hasn't happened yet though...

Because we are not Saltzburg, we are not Leipzig. I don't know any fans of either of those clubs to ask how they feel about their current situation so it's difficult to judge to what extent they feel they have lost their identity anyway.
