Investment on the Horizon? (13 Viewers)

So that makes it okay? Would people be happy if WASPS invested millions into us if they changed our kit to yellow and black?

I just find it strange and quite interesting peoples attitudes changing as soon as mega £££'s a waved in their faces.

Mmm...people go on about Sixfields and SISU and our history and the "Jimmy Hill Way" yet seem perfectly happy to change everything all of a sudden. I also find it strange and I don't feel particularly comfortable with it.

Some are happy to use "Jimmy would be turning in his grave" when it suits, but I presume it'll now be "Jimmy would give his blessing to this"?

I'd probably suggest reading a bit more about Red Bull's involvement in football.
The part where every team they've chosen has become a success?

Or the part where RB Leipzig have gone from last year 29k average attendance, to this years 41k attendance?

They must be hated...

No its not okay but my point is there is no sense getting your hair off about it as whoever comes in (if indeed there is anyone at all) will have a similar agenda. Companies and rich investors don't buy football clubs for the sake of it.

Everything today is sold to the highest bidder...be it the getting into bed of the premier league and Sky or the naming rights of competitions including the FACup and various leagues and all new grounds are sponsored rather than have the names rooted in the local environment. So if we are taken over by Red Bull or Wasps or whoever we might need to change an element of our name, or our kit or our badge. Unfortunately that's the modern world. Football sold its soul years ago to the commercial sector

I find it strange people don't want CCFC to be a success... whichever way it comes. You are not getting it with SISU, that's abundantly clear.

True, but you'd be happy to risk everything that makes CCFC the club it is? Kit, name, maybe even location? Not sure I would.

Apart from the kit and name, the latter has already happened and in 2018 may happen again. I'd rather take heavy investment than SISU moving us again to make us even more shitter than we currently are.

Tbf the discussions the PL are having around safe standing might sort the expansion/capacity issues

I've said before, and you "Liked" the post, that if the pitch was turned 90 degrees the main stand could hold approx 15k by being built almost back to the main road. The other three stands could easily hold another 10-12k between them......Doesn't the existing stand already hold 3-4k now?

So the only way to success is Red Bull?
No plenty of others out there, I just wouldn't write them off, my generation has been starved of success, yours probably hasn't. That's the difference between me and you. Born in 1984. I've missed it all like many others born in the 80's who were too young for the FA Cup.

My generation? You don't know anything about me!

For me there are more important things surrounding a football club than just success. If that was the case I would have supported Liverpool in the 80's.

Yes, it already happened and everyone moaned and were beating their breasts in anguish. Not now, it seems.

Hahahahahaha. A bit "Two faced" isn't it Mr Sixfields?

Why is it? I was pointing out everyone was moaning about Sixfields yet it conveniently forgets that when it suits. You seem to despise those that support the team. Maybe because you don't do it yourself. Are you trying to make me guilty and ashamed? It's the tactic people like you tend to use. Keep it up.

football is sadly a long way from its roots its more a play thing for the rich and a way for companies to write of debt hidden in a way thats legal in the eyes of the law. There is no connection anymore to the local people except in the clubs name and history. If that goes then football really is dead.

I replied before you suggested that, anyway, truth hurting? You don't want another ground but were happy to go to Sixfields. Like I said "Two Faced" when it suits you eh?

The Jimmy that tried to change our name to Coventry Talbot ?.

Yes, he did, but he thankfully failed. Actually, I'm glad you've pointed out he wasn't the saint he's made out to be. Red Bull would want more than a name change though, wouldn't they? As I said most seem happy with it, so fair enough.

I do not remember any complaints when the Solihull Barons ice hockey team moved to Coventry and rebranded themselves as the Coventry Blaze.

Not quite the same I suppose, but you get my drift.

Regards.

Who said I don't want another ground? I would leave the fucking Ricoh like a shot, can't stand the place. I'd be more than happy with the Butts or another location in Coventry or the surrounding area. Why would the truth hurt? I went to Sixfields and I have no regrets, not one. Twats like you on a message board won't change that?

And as for two faced, it's not me? It's the anti-SISU bleeding hearts who bemoaned moving the Sixfields yet would be happy to move to God know's where as long as it got rid of SISU.

To be fair, Solihull Barons used to get attendances of about 35 people

Tim Fischer as owner of the club, as stated in previous posts does not sound that far fetched. Respected posters on here have said what an apparently nice guy he is when he is away from the club and he would have access to the right circle of business to put a deal together. Question is if it were him in control with the backing of a consortium could he win the fans round. At the moment we know he cant say what he wants to say as the ice queen has him on a tight leash and he tows the company line, perhaps this would explain the silence and the disdain he gave the trust when they asked what the price would be, he was trying to put them off the scent. Pure speculation but stranger things have happened.

You'd better get Mummy to change your nappy, the smell of bull shit is strong in you.

Sadly, I don't have a mummy anymore. I'll wait until the wife gets home.
